I wonder if by "Queen" here (Dec 1817) they mean Charlotte who died 11 months later ?
That would seem to make sense

Although some silly persons have supposed that Caroline was "aged 21" at her marriage, she was not. She was simply "of full age" and therefore at least 21. In fact the 1851 and 61 census confirm that she was born 1815/16. In particular she states specifically that she was born at "The Cloisters, Windsor Castle!"
How peculiar. Perhaps I'm being a bit romantic to think that her father Francis Roper "clerk in orders" might be the exact same person who dying a "minor canon of St George's chapel" Dec 1817 and leaving TEN children with his widow "the youngest only a week old", the *queen* started a subscription for the aid of the family.... I mean what are the odds?
It's fairly likely this might lead to a new royal descent never before fleshed.

The mother of John Varley (1850-1933) was a Caroline Roper. Caroline was the second wife of Albert Fleetwood Varley, who was also a painter, in particular of landscapes. At their 1846 marriage, she states that her father Francis Roper was a "clerk in orders". Does this mean he was a priest?

Perhaps in DR's new book he could add annual supplementary appendices such as
he apparently likely claim that John Varley painter, and his grandson John
arley who also was a painter and also was the Vice President of the London T.S.
n 1885, were descended from Charles /Fleetwood/ , Knt, Commander of the Forces
n Ireland 1652
