According to the information for ville Mondeville in Calvados, Normandy, it was Amundivilla in the first millennium derived from Amund a Scandinavian nobleman and not from the Mandevilles of Cotentin. 

Also, the founder of the Mennonites, whose name Menno is apparently a variation of Manno a quo Mandeville, was actually Frisian.
