Gary Boyd Roberts, in his 500 Immigrants page 317, names the mother of Sir Richard Joan de Vautort or Valletort.
>From other sources I am given that this Joan (or Jeanne) died after 18 March 1276 and has no known surname but was married to
(1) Sir Reginald/Ralph de Vautort/Valletort (2) Alexander Okeston
Also I found in Ronnie Bodine's "The Ancestry of Dorothea Poyntz" page 116, Earl Richard also had an illegitimate daughter, Joan wife of Richard de Champernoun. From another source I have been given that this daughter Joan had as mother the before mentioned Joan/Jeanne.
Gerald Paget in his work on the ancestors and relatives of Prince Charles, Volume I page 15, gives a footnote which tells that
Richard, Earl of Cornwall, had three illegitimate sons: Richard, Walter and Lawrence de Cornwall.
Richard's illegitimate daughter Joan wife of Richard de Champernoun is an ancestor of Lord Charles Greville Montagu, Governor of South Carolina, as well as of Lady Diana Spencer and Sarah Ferguson.
Can anyone add (or change) anything to this?

This was talked to death a few years back in the group. I recommend
you go archive diving.

That should give you the necessary chronology to see if your theory
can hang upon it as well.
