some pretty appreciated families descended from an extended family of
Sweden's archbishops of the 1500s:

There is a phenomenon that this lineage mostly produced daughters. It was
much rarer for a son to survive and continue lineage.
On the other hand, several times this led to sort of matrilineal succession,
where the office of archbishop and primae was received by a son-in-law of a
previous officeholder.

the first reformation archbishop:

Laurentius Petri Nericius, 1531-73 archbishop of Upsala (bc 1499, d 26 Oct
1573), owner of Ytternes etc, 1531-73 archbishop as well as primate of
Sweden, a leading motor of the Swedish reformation, and fount of most of its
theology, follower in much of Melanchthon; himself son of Peder Olovsson,
smith in Örebro (d 1521), and his wife Kerstin Larsdotter.
Married king Gustav I's kinswoman, Elisabet Didriksdotter (dc 1594);
daughter of Didrik the Mint-Master and his wife, Birgitta Kristiernsdotter
av Venngarn

* she married firstly: Laurentius Petri Gothus, 1575-79 archbishop of Upsala

* she married secondly (after 1579) Andreas Laurentii Bothniensis Bureus,
1583-91 archbishop of Upsala (b 1520, d 1 Jan 1591), 1583-91 archbishop as
well as primate of Sweden; son of nobleman Lauri Olavinpoika and his wife

Angermannus, 1593-99 archbishop of Upsala (bc 1540, d Oct/Dec 1607 in
imprisonment), 1593-99 archbishop as well as primate of Sweden

3 Kristina Larsdotter av Ytternes och Venngarn, heiress of Ytternäs;
married firstly Måns Jönsson, royal secretary; married secondly professor
Olaus Jonae Helsingius Luth (d 1580), professor of astronomy at Uppsala
university.
Her son of second marriage:

3.2 colonel Johannes Olofson Luth, lord of Myrby and Ytternäs (dc 1632);
married firstly his first cousin, (Karin/Birgitta) Andersdotter (d 1616);
daughter of the abovementioned archbishop Andreas Laurentii Bothniensis
Bureus and his wife Margareta Larsdotter.
* their daughter:

3.2.1 Kristina Jonsdotter Luth; married Dr.Laurentius Olai Wallius, elected
bishop of Strengnes.
* their paternal granddaughter was countess Maria Wallenstedt, heiress of
Valla and Seglora
