Don't know if this is the Gagine/Gagin you are looking for. They
were a well known rabbinical family in Fez Morocco.
Rabbi Chaim Gagin 16th century leader in Fez wrote "Etz Hayim"
Rabbi Chaim Avraham Gagin was Chief Rabbi in Palestine in the l840s.
His great-grandson, Rabbi Shemtob Gagin of Alexandria Egypt was Av Beth
Din, Rabbi in Manchester England 1919-1926 and then Principal of Judith
Lady Montefiore College, Ramsgate England until 1951. His son,
Rabbi Dr. Maurice Gaguine was Rabbi of the Withington Congregation of
Spanish & Portuguese Jews Manchester from 1941-1983.
