From The Limerick Chronicle, 9 October 1822 --
Yesterday the Catechetical Examinations in the scriptures,
took place at the Cathedral--upwards of 200 children were
examined, and premiums awarded to the following:--
For good Answering--Eliza Taylor, Eliza Jeffries, Anne
Clements, Anne Marshal, Letitia King, Maria Maunsell, Anne
Gordon, Mary Rice, Anne Keays, Harriet Dillon, Eliza
Gordon, Anne Connellan, Mary Rutledge--Michael Madden,
John Smyth, James Simpson, Thomas Derham, Simon
O'Callaghan, John Ahern, Charles Hewitt, Alexander
Preston, Edward Rutledge, George Waugh, Barnaby Farrel,
John Simpson, James Ahern, and John Jones.
For regular attendance at Sunday Examination during
the Year-- Mary Keays, Catherine Whitaker, Eliza Fogarty,
Jane Dillon, Elizabeth Durham, Eliza Fogarty, Frances E.
Woods, Anne Ward, Frances M'Auliffe, Anne Tyrrel, Bridget
Bunton, Marianne Daly, Sarah Christie--George Egleston,
Andrew Clements, Samuel Foley, Wm. Hincks, William
Byrum, Robert Robinson, William Smith, William Kent, John
Peace, and Henry Baynham.
A certificate to Jane Hincks, she having obtained a premium
last year in the same class.
The Examiners were the Rev. the Archdeacon of Limerick,
Rev. Mr. Duddell, Rev. Mr. Peacocke, and Rev. Mr.
Maunsell. The Lord Bishop attended and distributed the
premiums.
