My opinion is that you should go away until you've learned how to do
genealogy and how to ask sensible questions.
While you are away, visit the Genuki website, read the guide for
newbies, and read much else relevant to what you are trying to do.
Read a few books on genealogy too, in a UK context not USA. Understand
that because records are kept and things done in one way in the USA it
doesn't follow that they have to be done in all other countries in
'the American way.'
And don't play silly buggers with concepts such as 'good records'.
Record keeping is not a commercial competitive pastime in which
alternatives are offered to the punters and there is some real method
of comparing the quality of one offer with that of another. Original
records are one-offs done by individuals with more or less sense of
responsibility, with more or less education, and usually for purposes
other than genealogy. You take what you get, and there is no way
whatever of determining either the completeness or accuracy of what is
available.
If. for example, a local priest declines to record some baptisms,
marriages and deaths, how would you know and what could you do about
it? The response 'it doesn't happen' is a nonsense in itself. In one
case near here there is actual proof that it did happen. There is a
gap of 8 years in one parish's records. Not pages torn out. On one
page their is one entry which is 8 years before the next entry. That
gap corresponded exactly with the tenure of one particular priest who
for a barmy prejudice reason refused to record anything at all for
anybody who went through the legally-required civil procedures for
registration on the grounds those procedures were Protestant and hence
wholly outwith the RC church and therefore didn't exist. To that clown
it followed that all children born of a couple whose marriage was
registered as required by law were bastards and not members of the
church. I am not defending the position. I'm only saying it happened
and in that one instance I used a high-ranking Catholic friend to sort
the mystery of the 'disappearance' of 8 years records. They didn't
disappear. They were never made.
By definition, I've no idea, and you've no idea, how often such
clownishness took place. So what are 'good records' and how do you
prove they are 'good' or not as 'good' as you'd like them to be?
And what do you do about records said to be destroyed by fire or
flood? Were they ever made? Were they destroyed? Or were they just
disappeared because having them around didn't suit someone at the
time? You cannot know.
If you haven't a clue about the nature of what you are studying, there
is little prospect of finding even a reasonably probable result. So
while you are gone away, also study up on the nature of records and
the inherent frailties of all recording systems. When you reach the
stage of being uneasy about the truth of anything and everything said
by or in records, you'll be fit to start using them.

On the other hand, if he follows what I said her will come out with
one of two positions. Either he will conclude that genealogy is not
for him (and it isn't for the vast majority of the population) or he
will get into it properly and thence derive a lot of satisfaction,
and - in the fullness of time - become a contributor for us all.
At the moment he is simply an ignorant incompetent anonymous parasite
who contributes nothing, bombs in from outer space, and expects
everybody to run around doing his work for nothing. It isn't going to
happen. Most people wouldn't bother at all with the parasites. From
me they get a wake-up call in the hopes that a small proportion will
turn out not to be parasites but symbiotes.
Your stupidity contributes nothing to that process of converting a
small proportion of the useless to the useful.
I'll also point out that attacking me instead of my argument (which
you can't do because it is sound) merely concedes that I have won the
argument.

with your local Family History Center of the LDS they should be able
to supply you with it. I had great luck with the North Mayo Heritage
Center..cost me$250 but was worth every penny as they supplied me with the
births and marriage of my grandfather's siblings.

Every county in Ireland is suppose to have a heritage site. If you check with your local Family History Center of the LDS they should be able to supply you with it.
