Subject: Gutsbesitzer auf Floride
The marriage of my GGgrandparents Christoph Friedrich Hammer
and Christina Maier on 24 January 1826 at Heimerdingen, where her
father lived, is shown on their family record at Knittlingen but
recorded also at Echterdingen (LDS microfilm 1055924) where the
banns were announced.  After the bridegroom's father's name, Johann
Friedrich Hammer,is the notation "Gutsbesitzer auf Floride". I believe
that means "estate owner at Floride".

Meyers Orts mentions Floride as a hof near Echterdingen.

Any comments on the correctness of my interpretation of Johann
Friedrich Hammer's status and suggestions about how to find out more
about "Floride" will be appreciated.
