I am looking for some relatives with the following surnames: Neumann,
Wisniewskie, Altenhoff, Baxmeier, Dumann

My name is Anja Neumann, my father is Klaus-Peter Neumann he was adopted by
his aunt who was a sister of his father who's lastname was Wisniewskie.
His fathers ( my grandfathers ) name was Johannes Wisniewskie. ( you can
spel Wisniewskie on several different ways maybe I didn't spell it right ).
My grandfathers family comes from Koenigsberg ( Kaliningrad ).
My grandfather was married to Gertrude Altenhoff.

Baxmeier is my mothers maiden name. Her father ( my grandfather ) was also
adopted, his fathers name was Dumann he was killed in action at worldwar
one. ( It is also possible that the name Dumann must be spelled on a
different way)

Please if anyone recognizes these surnames, then please contact me.
I really want to know more about my family.

Thanks to everyone who responds.

Anja Neumann

Neuman and Wisniewski are fairly common surnames in the Rypin area of
Poland (north-west of Warsaw ~75 mi.).  If you suspect your ancestors may
have come from that area, please contact me.  I have virtually all the
Michalki Lutheran church records in a computer database which makes
finding someone fairly easy.  However, since the records are only
available for 1810 to 1865, you have to be searching that time period.

I note in the records that Neuman appears to be derived from Neupert or
Nypert in some of the records at least.

My great great grandfather Nachmann Hirsch changed his name to Neumann around
1800 in Pyritz.  His descendants all went to Berlin eventually.
