I think that it is probable that the text on the memorial stone is
"Ostermontag vor George ....".
The confusion can easily be made because of the manner how the "O" and the "s"
are written in old Gothic.
Meaning: "Eastern Monday for George ...."
I have no idea of the meaning of "1099".

St-George's day being in April, I would believe it to mean:
" Easter Monday, the Monday before St George"

No, I think the stone might have been brought from Europe and 1099 *is*
the date.
