LeNeuf and LeGardeur: New Research Published
I have been remiss in not mentioning sooner than now that R.-Yves Gagné has published the first of a series of articles on the origins of the LeNeuf and LeGardeur families. These are important "noble" families in the founding of New France. The first article goes into some detail to show that the LeNeufs were not nobles at all. Point your browser to [link] to learn more. It is going to be very interesting following his research in the future issues of the Mémoires. I am particularly interested to learn what he has discovered about the LeGardeurs and the relationship of this family to the LeNeufs back in France.... more »

regarding Mathieu de BAILLEUL
Anato;e Charpillon wrote about Mathieu in "Distionnaire Historque des Toutes les Communes du Department de l'Eure. Charpillon identified 10 children of Mathieu and Anne de Clinchamps and provided sketchy information about Mathieu's ancestry. I have not been able to find anything more about this Bailleul line except for a brief mention in "Montres Generalles de la Noblesse du Baillarge d'Evereux". Is there any other information out there?... more »

Antoine (Anthony) Pellitier and alleged father, Jerome.
Jerome Pelletier was born in France. I believe he was married in France before coming to America and had at least one son, Anthony or Antoine. (Anthony was born in c 1781 in France or Hatti.) My theory is that after Jerome's wife died or they separated in France, he and Anthony moved to Haiti where Jerome was a member of the French military. (Jerome/Gerome had a brother named Peter.) After Haiti I believe that Jerome and Anthony moved to Carteret Co, NC. He married Sarah Dennis shortly after. (Anthony was about age 20 when Jerome died in 1801.)He was most likely on his own before Jerome died. Anthony first married Elizabeth Shepherd Perkinson and 2nd Sarah? Vaughn. He moved to Petersburg VA and then to Orange Co, NC where he died in 1845. I am looking for proof of the connection between Anthony and Jerome and where each of them were born. Any information would be appreciated.... more »

Recherche BOULAHOUACHE
Bonsoir.
