can anyone help me - i am trying to trace the original home area of Jacques
Naude, a French Huguenot who arrived in the Cape Colony on the ship
'Mayflower' in the 1600's.

I am trying to find where the town of Kerfajo was in France. It should be in
Brittany. My G-Grandfather listed it as his birthplace on his citizenship
papers and I have not been able to locate it on any map. Family rumor had it
somewhere near Lorient.

Louis M Ridant emigrated to Massachusetts about 1880. His hometown is listed on his applications for naturalization, and his naturalization records, along with his Marriage certificate, all list his home in France as Kerfajo. I can find no reference to a town in France named Kerfajo???

Keryado is a now part of Lorient. It used to be part of Ploemeur, then
was a municipality of its own, 1901-1947 :

A Louis Marie Ridan (no T, although this is meaningless) was born in
Ploemeur, June 19th, 1864.
