Subject: Family Tree Maker® 9 Collector's Edition
Hi-I suspect that this subject may have already been discussed, but I missed
it.

Last I knew, A&E had just bought Generations and now they are already
releasing a new version of Family Tree Maker?

Is this really a upgrade?  There were no screen shots on the web page
(http://www.broderbund.com/Product.asp?OID=4145706&SC=1105647&CID=508) so it
is hard to tell if this is worth upgrading too or not.

Any thoughts?

Family Tree Maker 9 is not a new version.  It's been around for about one
year.  However, there is not doubt that there will be a Family Tree Maker 10
this fall since that it the pattern of the company; to release a 'new'
version each year in time for Christmas.

It seems there is a FTM 10.  Maybe not in collector's edition.   I've been on
FTM's tech support list and they've been discussing it's "advantages".

I'm not convinced FTM has any advantages; it doesn't import dates properly
cancels them all!

Dora,
I had the same problem. After cleaning my import and my existing file from
doubles and mistakes the import works.
...note... never forget backups!
hope that helps
