I hope I haven't cut out too much context.

I have genealogical files ranging from about 4000 individuals to 30,000
individuals (most used) and up to 200,000 individuals. I know of one (most
impressive) database of over 500,000 individuals. I think we shall see
useful databases of millions of individuals in the foreseeable future. In a
sense, we have such now, but not in a form where gedcom is relevant.
