This seems to have a free and a paid for service.

I'd be interested in feedback - user's experiences, privacy issues,
usage limitations (eg, max. number of individuals)

I had an account with them for their free service, but have since canceled.
The free accounts have a limitation of 500 names*, they're excessively
flash dependent and their research tool, the cutsie name of which I
forget, never worked. I wouldn't recommend them for anybody beyond the
novice stage, and probably not even then.

* other levels (silver, gold, platinum(?) ) have higher limits, but cost
correspondingly; ISTR US$5/mo for silver, US$10/mo for gold. I don't
recall the limits for the various levels, but all are relatively low. I
will give them marks for courtesy - when I canceled, they asked why, I
told 'em, they said thanks and that was it; I haven't been bothered since.

I think they're genuine, but their focus seems to be on social networking
with genealogy as a framework and more geared to the dabbler than to the
more serious hobbyist.

I kinda thought that, since this was unlike my usual maunderings, I should,
ahhhhh, seal it with a real name and not whatever lame play on SOB came to
mind.

Satisfied?

I have the Free version

I loaded my mothers name as it is a small tree
compared to my one name study of LANKSHEAR.
I did not know about number limits.

I had some problem with gedcom import/export and
could not get a response out of their help or
forums which I found difficult to use. Anyhow the
basic gedcom got there and I loaded on web.

I have not found any privacy problems.
The system occassionaly sends "Smart matches". One
of these was valid.
The others were not smart - just same names at
similar time frame but entirely different people.
Including one uncle who died as an infant so
hardly this ladies ancestor. His death was on the
tree.

As you asked I visited site and they have upgraded
to version 4 so I have downloaded. Kaspersky did
not like as no digital signature.

I'll look at again BUT I prefer the Free versions
of Legacy and Rootsmagic Essentials.
And cousins find my web site so Smart matches I do
not need
