Restore FTM file

I've been asked to restore a file created in FTM. It has an .ftmb
format, which means it was created with FTM2008 or later.

I loaded up my copy of FTM17/FTM2008, and updated it as suggested. So
far, so good.
Then I tried to do a Restore. The system found the .ftmb file, and
created a new file, .ftm
Then I got an error message: "Incorrect file version 20090330
expected:20070723"
What does that mean, apart from being unable to restore the .ftmb file?
I've sent Ancestry a question, but in the meantime, things have stalled...

OK, Ancestry replied to me - the file was probably created with a later
version than mine. A quick response - full marks. But I suggested they
amend the error message to something human-readable.
