   Esq., Skibbereeen.

      August 1, at New York, Peter Ferguson, Esq.,
   Philadelphia, to Jane, relict of Kerry Tidmarsh, Esq.,
   of Limerick.

      August 19, at Mallow Church, by the Rev. Allen
   Cliffe, Isaiah Corry Tandy, Esq., only son of Burton
   Tandy, Esq., late of Mornington House, County
   Meath, to Jane Charlotte, second daughter of Captain
   Coote, late of Her Majesty's 54th Regiment.  

      August 20, at St. Andrew's, Westland-row, Dublin,
   by the Archbishop of Dublin, Edmund Waterton, D.L.,
   Knight Hospitaller of St. John of Jerusalem, and of the
   Order of Christ, Private Chamberlain to his Holiness
   Pius IX, only son of Charles Waterton, of Walton Hall,
   county of Yorkshire, Esq., to Josephine Margaret
   Alicia, second daughter of John Ennis, of Ballinaheen,
   county of Westmouth [sic], Esq., M.P., for Athlone.

      On the 16th inst., at St. Mary's Church, Islington,
   Mr. Henry Scott Simpson, of London, to Anna Sarah,
   eldest daughter, of the late Captain Robert John
   Saunders, R.A., Baggot-street, Dublin.

      Capt. the Hon. Leopold Agar Ellis, and Mr. Corry
   Connellen, I.G.P., arrived at Lismore Castle on Saturday
   evening on a visit to the Duke of Devonshire. Mr.
   Connellen left the Castle on Monday morning on his tour
   of inspection of prisons.

      Mr. Spencer has arrived at Lismore Castle on a visit to
   the Duke of Devonshire.

   SOME time since seventeen men of the Gen. Hewitt were
   brought before the magistrates at Queenstown, charged
   with insubordination, for refusing to proceed to sea in the
   vessel. The allegation of the men was that she was
   unseaworthy. Notwithstanding their defence the men were
   convicted and imprisoned. Recent intelligence, however,
   seems to have shown their apprehensions to be well
   founded as the vessel is reported off Lisbon leaky.

      On the 6th inst., at Ardmore, county Waterford, Robert
   Dring O'Grady, Esq., late Captain 30th Regt., aged 49.

      On the 6th inst., at Maryville, in this county, Joseph.
   eldest son of the late Benjamin Hosford, Esq.

      In this county at Clashemore House, the residence of her
   grandson, Mrs. Ruth Allen, in the 87th year of her age.

      August 12, in Dubuque, U. S. America, of scarletina,
   John, the youngest child of John B. Fitzgerald, Esq.,
   formerly of Ballykennelly, county Cork, Ireland.

      On the 15th ult., Alfred James Horseman, student of the
   London Hospital, aged 19, of Scarlatina. Also, on the 29th
   ult., Fanny Christina Horsman [sic], eldest sister of the
   above, aged 17 years, of hydrothorax and bronchitis.

      On the 21st Aug., in the city of Hamilton, Canada West,
   of jaundice, John A. Kavanagh, Esq., aged 37 years,
   brother of Professor Kavanagh, of the Catholic University
   of Ireland.

      On the 5th inst., at Drumcree, Robert Smyth, of
   Drumcree House, co. Westmeath, Esq., D.L.

      On the 6th inst., at his residence, 5, Prince William-
   terrace, Beggar's-bush, James Casey, Esq., late of
   Maynooth, in his 87th year.
