Subject: introduction

Hello to you all

I am new to this mailing list and I'd like to introduce myself and my research
interests.

All my family are in Yorkshire ( although there may be some who came over the
borders from Lancashire and Lincolnshire).

In East Yorkshire around Scarborough, Hull, Howden, Goole, NunburnholmeI have:
WILLIAM EDGAR ASKHAM born1889
parents: EMMA JANE GREENFIELD  and JOSEPH MOORE ASKHAM (1856-1930).

JOSEPH MOORE ASKHAM had 8 brothers and sisters;
Their parents: WILLIAM ASKHAM (born 1813) and ANNE MOORE (born 1814).

ANNE MOORE had 6 brothers and sisters;
Their parents: JOSEPH MOORE (born 1771) and SARAY (married 1798).

JOSEPH MOORE had 3 brothers and sisters.

WILLIAM EDGAR ASKHAM (see above) married HILDA MARY BRIGGS in 1920. She had no
siblings. Her parents were ARTHUR BRIGGS (born 1866)  and MINNIE TEMPLE .

ARTHUR BRIGGS had about 8 brothers and sisters. Their parents were JOHN BRIGGS
and ANNE.

MINNIE TEMPLE had at least 8 brothers and sisters.

The rest were based around Barnsley, Sheffield and Leeds:
HARRY FEARNLEY (born 1894). Son of TOM FEARNLEY (born 1870-75, died 1935) and
possibly ANN MEGSON (died whilst Harry was very young). Harry had 3 half-
brothers.

HARRY FEARNLEY married RHODA ANN WHITTINGTON (1896-1982). Rhoda had 5 brothers
and sisters. Their parents were CHARLES WHITTINGTON (1869-1923) and HANNAH
MARIA BEET (1872-1966).

CHARLES WHITTINGTON had 6 brothers and sisters and their parents were CHARLES
WHITTINGTON and RHODA KILNER

HANNAH MARIA BEET  had 1 sister. Their parents were ROSE ANN BROADHEAD had TOM
BEET (1843-1905). TOM BEET had 4 siblings and their parents were WILLIAM BEET
(1815-1862) and ELIZABETH ELLIOT.

WILLIAM BEET had 11 brothers and sisters and their parents were MARGARET BROWN
(1775-1827) and THOMAS BEET (1765-1849).

MARGARET BROWN had 8 brothers and sisters (some who lived in Lancashire and
Derbyshire) and their parents were BENJAMIN BROWN and SARAH MOORE of
Ecclesfield

THOMAS BEET had a brother and a sister and their father was RICHARD BEET of
Woodseats, his wife may have been called WOODCOCK. RICHARD had a brother
JOSEPH BEET (1710-1806) from Mortomley.

JOSEPH BEET had a son JOSEPH BEET (1768-1813) from Tickhill, and his son JOHN
BEET (born 1790) lived at Hedon near Hull. The last of the Beets of Mortomley
was CHRISTOPHER BEET, who had two daughters.

I'd love to hear from anyone with similar surname interests. I'd be happy for
any advice, I am hoping to get to my local LDS centre for the first time and
it feels a little daunting......where to start!

Thanks
Rosemary Fearnley
