Can anyone out there give any info on the ship 'Sultana' which
sailed from England in 1859. I am especially interested if one
of the deportee's or crew was Henry Pease.

Regards
John
Plymouth, England

Hello John,
On the 1859 trip of the "Sultana"(Plymouth 29.5 - Fremantle, 19.8,
with 224 male prisoners), there was a journal kept by the Surgeon, a
Henry Richardson, which is in the Battye Library in Perth. (Sorry, I
don't live in Perth, but someone there is sure to be willing to help.)
There also seems to be a precis of that journal in "Experiences of a
Convict"by J.F.Mortlock, published 1865, 1965.

I don't have access to the passenger and crew lists, but someone in
Perth will have.
Good hunting, and kind regards,
Margaret S.
