I cannot find a Rootsweb list to explain the following and have also searched the archives. Is anyone able to explain for me or advise where I could obtain further information please.
Robin in West Oz
I have researched for Alfred John MARTIN at the Alexander Library, Perth WA and found the following:
A MARTIN "William George" 1892
Official # 67969
Source FLI
ID: 165568 p#9579
ID:165569
Call # 1892/121
What is FLI
There is no name or birthplace given
What does the Call # refer to?
Where could I find out more detailed information about A Martin to see if it might be my Alfred John.
Hearsay was that he jumped ship in Sydney. Married 1896c. First child born 1897c. Have not been able to find a record for either event. First record found is death of son 1901 in Perth WA
Grateful for help

Hello Robin..I guess you've already searched Karrakatta etc and found the
burial info for an Alfred John Martin d1935, aged 67 at Maylands? regards

You say that you "researched ... the Alexander
Library, Perth WA". In what book, film, CD, catalogue etc did you find
that? Without that info it is extremely difficult to advise you - it would
be guesswork. And, if you have not noted the source of your info then your
research cannot be verified and is thus worthless. Sorry if that sound
blunt but it is rule 1 for any research.
And, the answer to your question about what the abbreviations mean is almost
certainly given in the introduction to the source that you consulted.
Looking there is rule 2!
