Palfre(y)man and Duggin: UK, Canada and Australia.
===============================
A friend of mine is researching her family.
William PALFREMAN arrived in the East End of London from Blayden,
Gateshead, Durham around 1850. He had two sons Robert who married Emma
Knight and Richard who married Tina Cassata.
Robert and Emma had a daughter Florence Emily, my friend's mother, born
1910.
Florence married a Sidney DUGGIN, born 1909.
Sidney's father was Frederick who died in the 1918 flu epidemic.
His mother was Caroline Schmidt. Her father arrived from Germany around
1860 and is believed to have worked as a coppersmith in Stratford, East
London.
There is a family story that when a toddler, circa 1914/18 Florence came
home to find a soldier at her home and was told he was a relative from
Australia. She particular want to find any contacts in Australia. The
news is unusual so if anyone can do a phone look-up she'd be grateful.
It is also believed there are family members in Canada.
