My great grandfather Christopher Deacon apparently left his wife and
children in Victoria around 1910 give or take a few years. He was on the
electoral roll at Preston in 1908 but I haven't been able to locate any
record of him after that.
His brother Godfrey was married in 1886, but as far as I know did not
have any children. I haven't found any subsequent records of Godfrey
(his wife Dorathea died in South Melbourne in 1917).
If anyone stumbles across any references to Christopher and/or Godfrey
Deacon, or perhaps brothers Christopher and Godfrey with another
surname, please let me know.
Christopher was a plumber and gasfitter, apparently had some sort of
yard around the Flemington road area at one stage, and was a bit of an
inventor according to family stories.
Thanks
Ray
