Subject: Some ideas on how to organize the Balkans
Here are some ideas on how to sort out the Balkans so that everyone will
be happy:

We should:

Give Montenergo and, southern half of Bosnia, Southwestern Serbia proper
(Kosova included) and western Fyrom to Albania
Northwestern Serbia proper and Northern Half of Bosnia to Croatia
The rest of Serbia including Belgrade, and Eastern Fyrom, to Bulgaria
Voyvodina to Hungary
The island of Corfu to Albania

I feel that this will help make up for the wars in the Balkans for the
last 10 years which the Serbs started and also make up for all of the
innocent people, especially Albanians, that have died or suffered as a
result.

What did the Montenegrins do wrong? They would be abused for being
non-Muslim if Albanian troops or police were there.

A nice example of a 19th century idea. Seems like there is a lot of people
in the Balkans who kind of skiped the 20th - Serbs and Albanians being the
prime example.

I think that the future of the Balkans is in small in regions. (Independant
states, confederation, union or federal members...  whatever) . Smaller
states are forced to cooperate with each other and forget the resentments
with neighbours simply in order to survive economically (if nothing else).

Besides, as a result of those riots 2 years ago (or was it 3?) Albania is
having some serious trouble governing even its present day territory (Seems
like the Op. Alba was a complete failure). The goverment in Tirana, if there
is such a thing, is perfectly aware of that.

You cannot heal your wounds by inflicting new ones to the others. It also
does not raise anybody from the dead. It is the blood-feud mentality that
needs to be abandoned as quickly as possible. Then you can move on.

I see a good future for Albania. With the addition of Kosova, and our assistance
to rebuild it, it will be one of Europes major tourist spots, especially
considering the fact that we will be pumping some big $$$ into it.

Smaller states wont be in a mood to cooperate more then present day "big"
states. Did Europe divide itself to small countries and then formed EU? You
propose dividing of existing countries? Do you know what would it take?
What is wrong with cooperation among existing countries?

Actually, Mexico should be our 51st state. True Mexican economy sucks, but

in a matter of time, it will flourish. We have a lot of our industry there

now (and constantly move more there, as most of us blue collar workers
know) and other well known foreign companies from Western Europe (aka:
Germany, Volkswagan) Plus with such a high population, it will increase
tax revenue.

It is completely wrong to see mixing up of nationalities as the ultimate
solution - you are only mixing up nationality and _nationalism_ that way.
You have to focus on getting rid of nationalisms , not nationalities. There
is nothing wrong with borders and (ethnic) nations per se - it is the abuse
of them that is wrong.

And there is absolutely no indication anywhere in the World that the US
model is some sort of a magic solution for everybody. As a particular
solution for a particular region it can be applied elsewhere too, of course,
but certainly not everywhere. Who knows, the Balkans might be one of those
places - you must consider that option too to save yourself the
disappointment later on.
