Slobo Milosevic Sets Sail

Serbia's President Slobodan Milosevic has bought a British flagged
pleasure boat to cruise the Mediterranean as his regime collapses around
him at home, writes Helene Smith from Athens.

Milosevic, who boasts of his spartan lifestyle, allegedly paid 250,000
pounds for the vessel, the Eagle of London.

He wants to fly the red ensign because it will enable him to travel
unhindered between European Union ports without notifying port authorties.

The 22-tonne luxury yacht was bought from Kriton Lendoudis, a Greek
shipowner, last July.

Milosevic paid through the Cyprus offices of Marathon Marine Ltd., an Isle
of Man company which has offices in Limassol. The buyer remained anonymous
throughout the deal.
