Witnesses name three key figures in the vojna linija responsible for
arming and training paramilitaries - Radovan "Badza" Stojicic, Franko
"Frenki" Simatovic, and Mihalj Kertes. They worked for Stanisic, the head
of Milosevic's secret police. Kertes was also Milosevic's "minister for
the Serb diaspora", providing him with a pretext for constant travel in
Croatia and Bosnia. All these men now hold powerful positions in the
Milosevic regime. One key source, Branislav Vakic, first met Badza in May
1991, in the eastern Slavonia region of Croatia. Vakic, a former boxing
champion from Serbia's second city of Nis, was determined to fight for his
kin at a time when Yugoslavia was imploding and skirmishes were breaking
out between Serbs and Croats. Vakic came with a band of adventurers and
freed convicts calling themselves the Serbian Chetnik Movement under the
leadership of a bespectacled history professor Vojislav Seselj.
When the Chetniks slouched into eastern Slavonia, many were carrying only
hunting rifles. Badza soon put that right. "MUP (the interior ministry)
started to help the Chetniks in May," says Vakic. "The MUP forces at that
time were under Radovan Stojcic - Badza. We just got weapons from them
then. But we started to act together in January 1993, in Skelani and
towards Srebrenica."
By the time the Chetniks moved to Bosnia, Vakic was in charge of 6,000
men. Badza moved into Bosnia at the same time. His influence is clear from
some photographs Vakic proudly displays in his offices in Nis. A picture
from 1991 shows him and a handful of fellow Chetniks brandishing a few
1940s Thompson machine-guns. Two years later, in a snap taken near
Srebrenica, Vakic is posing with a sophisticated sniper rifle. "We got
uniforms from MUP, and the weapons we wanted: infantry weapons.
machine-guns, sniper refles...and mortars," he recalls.
In early 1992, Vakic says his men were trained at a military base near
Belgrade, called Bubanj Potok. Later in 1992 and 1993, his Chetniks were
moved down to a new base at Bajina Basta (on the Bosnian border) where
they met "Frenki" Simatovic, who ran an interior ministry special forces
unit known as the "red berets". Frenki not only trained Vakic's men, he
accompanied them in forays against Bosnians as the war spread into Bosnia.

The old statement that people usually get the kind of government
they deserve is (I am afraid) to a certain extent true in Croatia. A
segment of Croatian people that would do anything to disassociate
themselves from being Croatian (using hundreds and hundreds of non-
technical English words when speaking Croatian, abandoning Croatian
culture in exchange for the parody of Western one, etc...) has now
influenced the Croatian government which wants to go even further in
distancing itself from who we (Croatians) really are.
The first example of that inferiority complex is a recent statement in
one of the Croatian semiofficial newspapers, "Vecernji List," (Evening
Press). In the March 25 issue of that paper (page 2), a M. Drkulec (I
don't know what the M. stands for) writes:
""""Croatia does not wish to be a hostage to the situation on the
Balkans, because we don't belong to that region neither
geographically,
nor economically, nor politically, nor historically, nor because of
any
security arrangements nor culturally.""""""
That makes about as much sense as Egypt declaring it is no longer on
the African continent, or India saying it is no longer in Asia. It is
true
that for most of the 13 centuries that Croatians have been living in
the same area, we have been exposed to the influence of the West, but
in our hearts, deeds and our actions, most of us (true, not all of us)
behaved as a typical Balkan person would. Besides, how can we deny
geography? Look on the map and see if Croatia is or isn't on the
Balkan
peninsula. Also, politically, our version of democracy resembles those
we associate with the Balkan banana republics much more than the
Western
democracies. I don't know about now (since the 1991 war), but for a
big part of this century, most of our commerce and manufacturing
cooperation was more closely associated with other Balkan states than
with the West. Many other aspects of our lives are "pure" Balkans, such
as corruption, rudeness and apathy in service industries, such as
banks,
government offices and others. So just how are we NOT part of the
Balkans?
The next "text book" example of hypocrisy is an article by a Drazen
Curic, in a different government controlled paper ("Vjesnik," March 25,
1997). This time it is an attack on the communists. There is an
interesting phenomena in the Croatian media. There are two kinds of
communists. Those who stayed communists to the end of the communist era
in eastern Europe and those communist who "burned" their membership
cards a few months earlier, and are now not only running Croatia, they
(these other ex-Communists) have become the most militant
anti-communists
there are. Something about "there is nothing holier than a reformed
whore." Can you imagine one communist accusing another communist
(probably his old comrade), of being a potential enemy of Croatia
because
of his past communist ties. So most of the members of today's Croatian
government were devout communists and had very high positions in the
communist hierarchy, in everything, from generals, to ministers,
members
of the hated secret police (UDBA, patterned after the KGB), mayors and
diplomats are today attacking those communists whose only difference
from themselves is the fact that they didn't dispose of their communist
cards soon enough.
But in the same article, this Mr. Curic wrote something else, even more
interesting. He somehow thought that he was attacking the opposition,
but his article could be used also as an even greater denunciation of
his
own, the HDZ (the party in power) political party:
""" ........... The election campaign is a time of exaggerations and
unfulfilable promises. The problem isn't in the fact that those
promises
are difficult to fulfill, but that the deceit is not discovered until
it
is too late, in any case, only after the elections. But by then
nothing
can be changed until the next elections ......."""
It is ironic, but that is exactly how many of us fill about the deceit
that the now governing Croatian political party (the HDZ) has
pulled-off
at the start of Croatia's independence.

"Castrated Croatians"
No, this time it s not about another atrocity committed by the Serbs.
This is about something that could be called "self inflicted." The
point
is, it is getting awfully difficult to find a Croatian that has enough
balls to stand up for what he (or she) believes in, if in fact they
believe in anything (I am referring to most of the 99% of Croatians
who
are not on the Internet or receive Croatian papers regularly, or at
all.
Remember? according to the Croatian authorities, there is supposed to
be
something like four million of us outside Croatia). After watching
this
strange phenomenon for almost 40 years (the time I have been living
outside Croatia - Yugoslavia), the only way I can explain it is by
....,
well, I actually can't. Now that doesn't mean that there aren't some
true Croatian patriots out there or that there aren't Croatians brave
enough to speak their mind, no matter what they believe in
politically,
I am only thinking in percentages. Just how many Croatians had the
balls
(or have any now) to speak out against the Serbian led communist
Yugoslavia (when it still controlled Croatia), or the Serbian
aggression
which started in 1991, or the HDZ Banana Republic which is being
created
now ?
When Yugoslavia still existed, there was a relatively small number of
"hard core" anti- Yugoslavs. However, there were very few (most
likely,
none) of the Croatian post W.W.II "intelegencia" brave enough to say
something openly against Yugoslavia. Most of them had very little
contact with anything Croatian. The few that were involved, or at
least
attended some Croatian functions did so without ever rocking the
"boat."
This small minority that did admit to being Croatian did so "quietly,"
making sure that when they go to their villas on the Adriatic no one
would tap them on the shoulder and say" come with me." In other words,
in addition to not having the balls to speak out against Yugoslavia,
they
actually had a vested interest in it. But there was even more
obnoxious
segment of the Croatian "inteligencia", they were openly Yugoslavs.
They
belonged to Yugoslav organizations and they were never seen at any
Croatian activities.
However, staring with the Serbian aggression in 1991, the roles started
reversing. In many (in too many) instances, those Croatians that had
nothing to do with any Croatian activities before the war all of a
sudden
had a reversal of conscience and they almost overnight became "holier
than thou" Croatians. They saw openings in the leadership of the
Croatian "Diaspora" and decided to fill them. Those Croatians who
spent
their lives fighting for the Croatian cause, where showed aside and the
"180 degree" Croatians took their place. Although the Croatian HDZ
government is full of those "180 degree" Croatians who "used to be"
communist and Yugoslav flag waivers, at least in Croatia they had to
take a stand against the Serbs, thus risking their lives, or at least
their careers. But some of the "180 degree" Croatians in the
"Diaspora"
only jumped in when it was safe.
Now, it is true that for a brief period, there appeared to be some
cooperation between the different and sometimes politically and
socially
dissimilar groups. But it didn't last long. After the dust settled
and
the results of the race for the top became obvious, almost the same
apathy that we had during the Yugoslav
days, developed again. In big part due to the highly successful HDZ
struggle for control of the Immigrant communities, there was no room
left for questioning any of the events taking place in Croatia, such as
pressure on the independent media, division of Bosnia with the Serbs
and
in real terms, a one party rule, despite more than thirty different
political parties. As a matter of fact, some of the political parties
in
Croatia were either created, or at least are supported by the HDZ, in
order to "water down" any real and potential opposition.
And just how did the even marginally active Croatians react to all the
disappointing change? They simply reverted back to their pre-Croatia
activities: attending a few banquets a year, criticizing the current
system in front of a few close friends (and in a very neutral and
vague
language) but basically they remained true to their physical
dysfunction's, "no balls."
And the HDZ keeps leading on. There is an interesting phenomenon among
the HDZ supporters overseas. First is the fact that they are still
overseas. If Mr. Tudjman & Co. re so great, how come they are still
here? The second curiosity about them is that the ONLY thing they ever
criticize openly and publicly are other Croatians, usually those that
HDZ
can't control. You never see these HDZ heroes attack the Serbian
propaganda, Western media that has been heavily anti Croatian, they
never criticize the Croatian traitors, the ex communists and Yugoslav
"aparatchiks" Isn't it ironic that their ONLY enemies are those whose
only "crime" is in demanding that the HDZ stop robbing Croatia and
fulfill the promises it made before the 1990 elections. Except for a
few
brave patriots with enough balls to speak out against the injustices
being committed in Croatia today, the vast majority of Croatians is
back
to their favorite activity: doing absolutely nothing.
Another good example of where the "castrated" Croatians are being too
scared to speak out is about Bosnia and Hercegovina It appears now
that the only "permitted" view of B&H is the HDZ view. A good
example is the recent killing of some Muslim civilians in Mostar, the
bombing of the Catholic church in Sarajevo and some other "incidents"
that have been occurring in Bosnia (and Hercegovina). IF THE HDZ
SUPPORTERS ARE SO CONCERNED WITH THE SUFFERING
OF CROATIANS IN BOSNIA (which we Croatians have divided with
the Serbs in the first place), WHY DON'T THEY EVER SAY
ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE SERBS, WHO "ETHNICALLY
CLEANSED" MOST OF THE CROATIANS FROM MORE THAN 50%
OF BOSNIA (AND HERCEGOVINA)? HOW DID HDZ AND ITS
SUPPORTERS COME UP WITH THE IDEA THAT ONLY THOSE
CROATIANS WHO ARE LIVING IN THE MUSLIM CONTROLLED
AREAS ARE SUFFERING, BUT THOSE WHO WERE KILLED,
RAPED OR EXPELLED, OR ARE STILL SUFFERING AT THE
HANDS OF THE SERBS ARE NOT? HOW COME THERE
WASN'T SUCH A LOUD OUTCRY WHEN SERBS BLEW UP
CATHOLIC CHURCHES ALL OVER BOSNIA? JUST HOW DID
THE SERBS IN BOSNIA BECOME FRIENDS OF THE HDZ?
THEY MUST HAVE, SINCE WHAT IS THE LAST TIME
THAT THE CROATIAN MEDIA ATTACKED THE SERBS FOR
THEIR TREATMENT OF CROATIANS IN BOSNIA? AND IF
THE MUSLIMS ARE SUCH "BAD GUYS" FOR NOT ALLOWING
(SUPPOSEDLY) CROATIANS TO PRACTICE THEIR RELIGION
AND TRADITIONS, I WOULD LIKE ALL THE HDZ
SUPPORTERS TO GIVE ME A LIST OF ALL THE CROATIAN
SCHOOLS IN THE SERBIAN TERRITORY, ALL THE CROATIAN
FLAGS FLYING IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA, ETC, ETC....
AFTER ALL, THE DAYTON AGREEMENT THAT MR. TUDJMAN
SIGNEDIS SUPPOSED TO GIVE ALL THREE SIDES THE SAME
RIGHTS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA.
If Croatians are mistreated by the Muslims anywhere in Bosnia, we all
must condemn that. But then it should also be true that if any Muslims
are mistreated by the Croats, that too should be condemned. And again,
why have the HDZ people "forgiven" the Serbs all together?
And just how could the HDZ have succeeded so thoroughly in taking
control of the Diaspora? Because they knew the physical make up of
most of the Croatians, "not enough balls" to stand up and be heard.
Again, I am (of course) not talking about ALL the Croatians in
Diaspora,
or those born and raised outside Croatia. Just about the percentages.
And as far as those Croatians who were born and raised outside Croatia,
as a rule, they are much more tolerant of the opinions of others and
they
have taken such documents as the American Constitution's First
Amendment to heart:
"CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN
ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE
EXERCISE THEROF; OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH,
OR OF THE PRESS; OR THE RIGHT OF PEOPLE PEACEABLY TO
ASSEMBLE, AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A
REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES."
HDZ and its supporters, both in Croatia and overseas, could learn a
lot
from those few words.

Pisati o licnim neugodnostima dozivljenima zbog izjasnjavanja

telefonskih a cak i postom, shavto sam koliko daleko ce izvjesne osobe

razvijanja jedne nove "demokracije."
Hrvatskoj, toliko tisuca mladih, skolovanih Hrvata napustaju domovinu
to
lijepo i dobro tamo, zasto ste onda ovdje? Hrvatska vas za ozbiljno
treba.
godina
ispune.
Hrvatska vlada stalno prica o ekonomskom cudu zvanom Hrvatska. Da bi se
zvali ekonomskim cudom, nasa ekonomija bi trebala rasti u postotcima
iznad osnove koju smo nasljedili 1991.
me
HDZ "raja.

"Krajina" part of Croatia has NOT been ethnicaly cleansed
by genocide and slaughter except of - Croatians during four
years of unspeakable terror by Serbs and the "Yugoslav"
Army commanded by none other than Ratko Mladic. That terror
and genocide has been conveniently forgotten and a new
FRAUDULENT invented. "Krajina" Serbs, all 100,000 or so
LEFT "Krajina" on the orders of their genocidal leadership
(like Hutus in Ruanda, riding in stolen (from unfortunate
Croatians) cars through Croatia with safe passage. Do not
perpetuate this silly myth. Croatian "cleansing" has
occured, unfortunatelly, in "Herzeg-Bosnia" criminal
statelet - against Moslem Bosniak there (many of them
considered themselves Croatians of Moslem religion, many
remember their Croatian last names before the conversion,
etc.) This is the true crime of Tudjman and HDZ mafia. To
"Krajina" genocidal murderers - good ridance and an end
to chrocodile tears. Thousands of these bastards should
have been hanged for their crimes against Croatian civillians.
Boris Petrovchich
Croatian part of Krajina, that used to be occupied by
Serb rebels (1991-1995) was a "bargaining collateral"
in the Tudjman-Milosevic deal. Croatian Serbs were
instrumentalized in 1990 by Milosevic, who promised them
that they are going to be a part of the Greater Serbia,
after General Tudjman basically threw out the Croatian
Serbs from the Croatian constitution. Prior to Tudjman's
act, Serbs had a status of a sovereign nation within
the Socialist Republic of Croatia. Tudjman revoked
their status -- which was an act that (predictably!)
angred the Croatian Serbs and increased their overall
paranoia of the WW II genocidal treatment they recived
from the Croatian Nazi puppet state NDH.
As the Serbian rebels occupied approx. 30% of the
Republic of Croatia (1991) with the help of the
Yugoslav Army, United Nations troups moved into the
area in order to keep the Serbian gains safely
held and patrolled for the Serbs. Croatia was to gain
those lands back, only if Tudjman makes good on the
deal he made with Milosevic, that Croatia shall
collaborate in mass murder of the loyal citiznes of the
neignbouring Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina (predominantly
and deliberately the Bosnian nation, a.k.a. "muslims")
and rendering of the repbulic between a smaller version
of Greater Serbia and Greater Croatia (approx. as
per 1939. Cvetkovic-Macek pact against Bosnia-Herzegovina
statehood).
That was the deal. Franjo Tudjman, Hrvoje Sarinic,
Gojko Susak et al. made that deal come through. US Administration
of Bill Clinton godfathered that deal and gave an OK
for the Croatian military takeover of Krajina and Western
Slavonia in the summer of 1995. Slobodan Milosevic collaborated
with that scenario.

6,6 kruna, a 1:1 - 6,8 kruna.
