With Michael Howard this week being interviewed by the police
concerning the cash-for-honours scandal many pundits predict that the leader
of the Labour party will be the next person to be directly embroiled in this
disgraceful episode. However, scratch beneath the surface of what is
supposed to be a free democratic society and you can find far more blatant
attempts to subvert the political process.
Following on from the tens of thousands of pounds spent by the
Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) in the last three years in trying to
understand just why it is that English people object so strongly to being
replaced by Third Worlders and so go out and vote BNP, we learn that a grant
of no less than £105,000 to study BNP votes in the run up to next May's
local elections has recently been awarded.
Failed idea peddled by society's failures
Now before anyone starts to assume that the JRCT is some
well-meaning organisation funded by the purveyance of chocolate bars and
fruit pastels they had better think again. For here we find the usual
collection of middle-class liberals peddling the failed concept of
multiracialism and enforced diversity with what appears to be an unhealthy,
almost religious zeal. Worse still, the power of this body, considering its
ideological obscurity, is massively warped by its incredible £175 million
investment portfolio enabling it to dish out some £5 million per year to
various "good causes". Readers will not be surprised that amongst recent
recipients the totally racist "Operation Black Vote" received a whopping
£30,000 and the so-called "Islamic Human Rights Commission" bagged another
£35,000.
Following the trail of the £105,000 grant specifically aimed at
stifling the BNP's attempts to give the indigenous white majority community
a political voice we find that the cheque arrived on the doorstep of the
Bethnal Green based outfit The Young Foundation. Headed by the former chief
adviser to Gordon Brown and a former parliamentary assistant to Oona King,
the Young Foundation is, putting it mildly, somewhat left of centre.
Regulation
The BNP's attempts to win hearts and minds openly and honestly
through the democratic process is strictly limited by the Electoral
Commission. In reality this means that our budget for local elections is
capped, by law, to just a few hundred pounds for each ward. In the light of
this readers might ask just how it is that organisations openly aligned to
the Labour Party and not having the integrity to actually contest elections
themselves are allowed to pour apparently limitless resources into BNP
target wards.
Whilst those at the Young Foundation eagerly await other future
grants of at least £70,000 pledged from their friends at the JCRT, the text
taken directly from their website indicates just how blatantly and brazenly
the fiscal manipulation of British democracy has now become.
"Work on far right extremism in Britain aims to understand the risk
factors and drivers of far right behaviour and support and suggest practical
steps to counteracting its appeal.
The aim is to gain a better understanding of the profile of far
right supporters, and what motivates them, as well as the relationship
between far right and other forms of extremism. The project will involve two
case studies, Barking and Dagenham and Stoke on Trent.
[ed. Why not save all this claptrap and ask the people what *they* want?]
Work will consider how public policy interventions might help or
hinder progress and what further action parties, government, local
authorities and, crucially, local organizations might be encouraged to take
to counteract the appeal of extremism and address gaps that other
organisations are unable to fill. A related key feature will be to develop
innovative and practical interventions - for example, initial work will feed
into the possible development of a centre for work on campaigning ideas and
methods".
[ed. Whichever road this organisation chooses, you can bet the campaign "idea"
will not be discussion and debate, but denunciation, defamation, disruption
and destruction, as usual...]
