"The headquarters of the 1st Caucasian Army Corps and of the 4th
Turkestan Division have moved on 26.1 from Erzincan to Erzurum.
Some 150 Russian soldiers remained in Erzincan to guard certain
depots and stores which have not yet been transferred to Erzurum.
Some 1000 Armenian, volunteers old and young, in uniforms or in
civilian have been observed in Erzincan. They are led by Murat,
one of Dashnak leaders.

Three mountain artillery guns were seen in the Church square in
Erzincan. The Moslem population is being secretly murdered by
Armenians while plundering and rape cases are widespread. Armenians
are also spreading information to the effect that very soon 20,000
infantry volunteers as well as banknotes printed on behalf of the
Armenian Government will soon reach Erzincan.

An Armenian gang, raided the Koska Moslem village some three Kms
south-west of Ardase, burning the houses, plundering their properties
and raping women. Inhabitants of Zekginc village 18 Kms south-east
of Erzincan suffered similar Armenian raids."

"Kill Turks and Kurds wherever you find them and in whatever
circumstances you find them. Turkish children also should be
killed as they form a danger to the Armenian nation."
(Slogan of the Armenian Committees in 1914)

"We closed the roads and mountain passes that might serve as
ways of escape for the Tartars and then proceeded in the work
of extermination. Our troops surrounded village after village.
Little resistance was offered. Our artillery knocked the huts
completed the work. Some of the Tartars escaped of course. They
found refuge in the mountains or succeeded in crossing the border
into Turkey. The rest were killed. And so it is that the whole
length of the borderland of Russian Armenia from Nakhitchevan to
Akhalkalaki from the hot plains of Ararat to the cold mountain
plateau of the North were dotted with mute mournful ruins of
Tartar villages. They are quiet now, those villages, except for
howling of wolves and jackals that visit them to paw over the
scattered bones of the dead."

the Muslims")

"..While the number of the Armenians killed were exaggerated to reach 600,000
or 800,000, or even a million, even greater numbers of the Moslem population
perished at the hands of Armenian volunteer bands and guerilla fighters
during the Russian invasion, and almost as great a number died during

proportion of the Moslem population of the eastern provinces lost their
lives during these events."

The Dashnaktsutiun revolutionary party had embarked into action without
losing time; it had initiated massacres even before a treaty was signed
between the Ottomans and the Russians. General Tovmas Nazarbekov
(Nazarbekian), who was responsible for the Armenian massacres of the Muslims
between 1914 and 1917, was appointed commander to the Armenian army. This
army was established with the approval of General Przhevalsky, the Chief of
General Staff of the Russian Caucasian Armies, and was composed of three
brigades. The first brigade was placed under the command of bloodthirsty
adventurer General Dro (Drastamar Kanaian) who had massacred Muslims in
1914 and 1915; the second brigade was placed under the command of Colonel
Silikian, and the third one under the command of Antranik who had slaughtered
more than 600,000 Kurds between 1915 and 1916. These armies committed massacres
against the Muslims.

"The massacres and genocide committed by the Armenians in Eastern Anatolia
and Caucasia and the fate of these areas also was a source of concern for
Mustafa Kemal Pasha who landed in Samsun on 19 May 1919 as the Inspector of
the 9th Army, but with the intention of initiating the national struggle
for independence. He wrote a letter expressing his well-founded concerns
regarding the atrocities committed by the Armenians to the Commander of the
15th Army Corps, Kazim Karabekir Pasha:

'The Armenian massacres of the Muslims on our holy country are aimed at the
destruction and extermination of all Muslims. As a result of the
incitements and support they received, Armenians who were Ottoman subjects
oppressed the Muslims in the area between Nakhichevan and Oltu and committed
massacres against them with the intention of exterminating the Muslims of
this area.'

...Although the eastern campaign was consequently postponed, Kazim Karabekir
Pasha made use of this time to prepare the plan for the attack. In a note
he sent to Mustafa Kemal Pasha on 26 April, he said that he was in a position
to start the struggle against the Armenians as the weather had improved.
Karabekir had prepared the army as well. Only the 'forward' order from
Ankara was needed. However, just as the attack was about to be initiated,
Kazim Karabekir Pasha's march was delayed by an order from Ankara. As has
been seen, the Turkish army did not cross the Caucasian border (established
by the Armistice) for two years, although its blood brothers were subjected
to oppression, atrocities and massacres. However, because the massacres
committed by the Armenians reached terrible dimensions, the order to start
the fighting was finally given."

"Following the occupation by Armenians after the Russian evacuation,
Armenians have burned and destroyed all Moslem villages and massacred
the people. This horrible deed, was not committed only West of Border
93 (The border at the time of 1877 - 1878 Ottoman - Russian War) but
also East of the border in Erivan, Gumru, Kars, Kagizman, Sarikamis
and partly in Ardahan and Ahilek in all the villages. The massacres
are confirmed by documentary proof and evidence.

Part of the incidents and occurrences investigated by military troops
in the operation regions are outlined below:

a. On 29 April, Moslems sent to Ahilek from Gumru on 500 carts,
were completely massacred by Armenians.

b. Villages of Zarudsad (Arpacay) district and of Melik were burnt
and inhabitants were massacred.

c. Again early in April, 67 villages of Suragil district were razed
to the ground.

d. An Armenian force, 1000-strong, equipped with machine guns and
two artillery guns in Kulp and vicinity, destroyed all villages
in Kulp and Erivan region, East of Kagizman.

e. On 1 May, a 100-strong Armenian cavalry gang murdered over 60
women, children and men in Sibes, Tepe, Duzkent and region. On
25 April, 570 Moslems from Subusan village East of Kars were
massacred by axes and knives and the corpses burnt. In Magisto
and Alaca villages, over 100 women, children and men were
murdered with the same brutality. All the inhabitants of Tekneli,
Haci Halil, Kalul, Harabe, Dagor, Milanli, Ketak, Alaca and Ilham
villages were massacred by Armenians.

f. On 1 May, the inhabitants of Dangal, Acarca, Mulabi, Morcahit,
Badigna, Havur, Koros villages burnt. Villages around Samran
Northeast of Erivan and around Boguylu North of Kinefski over
Arpacay were burnt and the inhabitants massacred. Many of our
soldiers were prisoners of war at Kars and many in Gumru were
bayonetted to death by Armenians in the presence of other Turkish
soldiers.

g. In short, the majority of the Moslem villages of Kars, Sarikamis,
Erivan, Ahilkelek, and Kagizman have been destroyed by Armenians.

h. The above are only small part of the crimes of Armenians in the
region. But these can be viewed as examples of the overall scene."

far...@eb5ts3.EBay.Sun.COM (Farid Bozorgmanesh) writes:

>Azarbaijan may have a small misunderstanding with our Armenian friends
>possibly couple hundred dead or perhaps 50 0r 60 amputees.

This is surely an underestimation of the number of innocent Azeris
slaughtered by the Armenian terrorist squads recently in Soviet Armenia.
Historically, the records of the Armenians with regard to their relationships
with neighbors have been poor, Farid. The Georgians, the Azerbaijanis and
the Russians dislike the Armenians - and for valid reasons. Iranians are
Shiite, and are close in sentiment to Azerbaijanis, therefore, they are
not enthusiastic about the Armenians.

By the 1700s, there was no large area in which Armenians made up enough
of the population to be the majority in an Armenian state. No province
of the Ottoman, Persian, or Russian Empires had enough Armenians to make
up an Armenia. For example, even much later, in the late 1800s, after
Armenians had migrated and concentrated their population, in no province
of the Ottoman Empire was more than one-third of the population Armenian.
The majority were in fact Muslims - Turks, Kurds, and many other ethnic
groups who identified themselves primarily by religion as Muslims.
In the 1790s Armenian Archibishop Argutinskii-Dolgorukov preached that
the rule of their Muslim lords should end through conquest of Russia
into the Caucasus. At the time and until the establishment of the Soviet
Republic of Armenia, Armenians have remained the minority of the
population in the lands that they lived. After massacres, genocide and
forced immigration of the Turkish majority, the Armenians became a
majority in Armenia as it is today. In Yerevan province the Armenian
government applied by then traditional tactics in clearing the Armenian
Republic of Turks. Massacres and destroyed villages were an incentive
to flight for Turks. By the end of the conflict, 180,000 Muslims, more
than two-thirds of the Muslim population of Yerevan province, had
either been slaughtered by the Armenians or forced to flee.

For two years now armed Armenian groups have been terrorizing the
Armenian countryside. Their main targets have been Azerbaijani Turks.
Most of what we read in the press painted a picture of innocent
Christian Armenians of Azerbaijan being expelled from that state by
Muslim Azeris mostly because of their religious differences. Truth
behind the Armenian-Azeri struggle, however, cannot be reached by a
simplistic approach. First, we should answer the question "how did
these events start?" As the Moscow government declared a year ago,
the Armenian-Azeri conflict started when Armenian nationalists asked
for the annexation of Azerbaijan's Karabakh region into Armenia.
Anybody with a map of the region in question can see that what Armenians
were asking for was a piece of land right in the middle of Azerbaijan.
Armenians' justification for annexation was that they were the majority
in Karabakh. They, however, conveniently were forgetting that Karabakh
has never been ruled by Armenians in its history and Armenians were
sent there as immigrants by the Russians to increase the Christian
population of this Muslim-dominated area. As a result of actions of the
Armenian nationalists, the Armenian majority of Karabakh and Armenia
started attacking the Azeri minority in mid-1988. It should be
recognized that the first victim of this conflict was an Azeri and that
close to 160,000 Azeris were forced to flee Karabakh and Armenia to
escape attacks by Armenian nationalists.

All of the Soviet Republics had demands from the national government
under the open policies of President Gorbachev but no nation except
Armenia demanded additional land from a neighboring republic. This is
not a religious war as Armenians would like the American public to
believe. This is a war for land and Armenians started it.

The reasons for today's "Karabakh Dispute" is rooted in Armenian
nationalist aspirations fanned by their religious leaders both inside
and outside of the Soviet Union. It is a blatant expansionist attempt
on the part of one Soviet minority (the Armenians) to realize a
nationalist agenda at the expense of other Soviet minorities (the
Azerbaijanis and the Georgians), and at the expense of a neighboring
state, the Republic of Turkey. As usual, with every opportunity they
can get, the Armenians totally distorted this serious subject matter
and exploited the disturbances in Soviet Armenia and Soviet Azerbaijan
for the purpose of another Armenian nationalistic issue: the
75-year-old hoax.

Armenian demands for annexation by Soviet Armenia of the Karabag region
of neighboring Soviet Azerbaijan are, pure and simple. A manifestation
of the same nationalism which leads Armenians also to demand territory
from other neighbors as well: Turkey, Iran, and Soviet Georgia. Each has
starkly contrasting social and political systems: liberal secular democracy,
Islamic Fundamentalism, and Marxist-Leninist Communism. Armenian territorial
demands on each spring not from attraction to or abhorrence of any of these
systems, but from a nationalistic impulse to expand national territory at
the expense of others.

The Karabag region of Azerbaijian was populated by Turkish-speaking Azeris
until the Azeri population was devastated by invading Armenians during
World War I. Armenian forces ruthlessly massacred Turkish men, women, and
children of the towns and villages which lay in their path. Armenians then
settled the areas, and this became to constitute the majority.

A part of the Karabag region was torn from direct Azerbaijani control and
rights were created for the immigrant Armenians who had only
started to populate the area in the late part of the 19th century,
should come as a great surprise to those who follow the reporting
on the area. The press has presented the creation of the problem as
a result of Stalin's favoritism towards the Azerbaijanis while
intimidating that before 1923, the territory was part of an
Armenian homeland. This in itself is a falsehood. Karabag was
never a part of the claimed Armenian homeland.

The present situation is not accurately portrayed. The Armenians
are not seeking a 'reunification' with Armenia by any means. That
is not the stated intent or the final goal of their bloody Dashnak
ideals. They have claimed that if Greater Armenia (Hayatistan)
is not created, that Azerbaijan will turn into another Lebanon.
To this end, they have stockpiled ammunition, weapons and trained
terrorists to murder innocent Azeris.

The crux of the Azerbaijani frustration is not reported upon, but
concealed behind homilies such as Shiite and natural enmity of
the Turks against the Armenians. There are presently, 250,000
refugees from Armenia in Azerbaijan. The international community
has never asked their fate. As usual, when the victim is Turk,
Kurd and Muslim, nobody gives a damn. There are over 50,000
Meshketian Turks from Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan that the Azeris
are also helping.

There are reports that Armenians roasted Muslim children and ate them
last year. There are reports that Muslim pregnant women were sliced
open. There are reports that the Armenians burned people alive.
There are reports about the parents who watched their children
have their heads sliced off by the Armenians. There are reports
about the 11 year old girl in Gence who was raped and mutilated
by the Armenians. There are reports about the old women who were
also subjected to the same fate by armed Armenian terrorists.

Where are the western reports about the Azerbaijanis who were
forced from Armenia? There were over 1,200 people (mainly
women, children, and old people) who reached Azerbaijan with
their noses, ears, and arms cut off. Yet, again, the current
situation is seen to be caused, (at least by so-called western
analysts) by 'fanatical Shiite' factors or even same, old, boring
cliche' of Pan-Turkist motivations.

The Soviet press, the Academies, and various policy making jobs
are held by Armenians who utilize their positions to create
'history' around the irredentist fantasies. Little wonder that
the massacres of Azerbaijanis by the Armenians are not heard or
known outside of Armenian 'interpretation' of the history and
culture of Azerbaijan.

'Armenian Gunmen Kill Five Azerbaijani Turks - Bomb Blast Kills 15 More
Azeris on a Separate Attack'

"Washington DC, August 28 - At least five Azerbaijani Turks were killed
as a result of the gunfire opened up by Armenians near the Armenia-
Azerbaijan border on August 19, Sunday, as reported by Interfax and
Tass news agencies.

Armenians opened fire on unarmed civilians in a bus in Azerbaijan,
killing a policeman and seriously wounding three others. Two of the
wounded died on August 20.....A fifth Turk was killed when Armenians
later on attacked six Azerbaijani villages. A police lieutenant was
killed and the villagers were forced to flee....In an earlier incident,
at least 15 Azeris were killed and 16 injured when a bus carrying
Azerbaijani Turks were ripped to pieces in a bomb attack on August
10.....These recent unprovoked attacks on Azerbaijani Turks are
interpreted by Turkish observers as an ominous prelude to an all-out
attack by Armenians on Azerbaijan in an era when the world attention
is focused on Gulf Crisis. Armenians boast having an independent
militia of 160,000 men equipped with machine guns, explosives and
even flame throwers."

The Armenians tore apart the Ottoman Empire's eastern provinces,
massacred millions of defenseless Muslim women, children and elderly
people, burned Turkish and Kurdish villages and exterminated the
entire Muslim population of Armenian dictatorship. Such outrageous
sleight of hand that is still employed today in Soviet Armenia brings
a depth and verification to the Turkish genocide that is hard to match.
As one dear friend put it, a hundred years ago Armenians again thought
they could get whatever they wanted through sheer terror like the
Russian anarchists that they accepted as role models. Several Armenian
terror groups like ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism and Revisionism Triangle
resorted to the same tactics in the 1980s, butchering scores of innocent
Turks and their families in the United States and Europe. It seems that
they are doing it again, at a different scale, in Soviet Armenia today.

Right on the money, Ruhi. It was the Armenian dictatorship and Armenian
genocide squads attacking, invading, raping, massacring, and stealing from
the Muslims, as has been admitted by the Armenians themselves.

With the Russian invasion of eastern Anatolia in 1914 at the beginning of
World War I, the degree of Armenian collaboration with the Russian enemy
increased dramatically. Ottoman supply lines were cut by Armenian genocide
squad attacks, Armenian revolutionaries armed Armenian civilian populations,
who in turn massacred the Muslim populations of the provinces of Van, Bitlis,
Mus, Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan, Diyarbakir, Maras, Adana, Sivas and Mamuretulaziz
in anticipation of the expected arrival of the invading Russian armies.

The Armenian dictatorship planned and carried out a genocide against its
Muslim subjects. Millions of Muslims were massacred and the remainder driven
out of their homeland. After thousands of years, Turkish lands were empty
of Turks. The survivors barely escaped to Turkey. Today, Soviet Armenia
rejects the rights of Muslims to return to their homeland occupied by
Soviet Armenia. Today, Soviet Armenia covers up the genocide perpetrated
by its predecessors and is therefore an accessory to this crime against
humanity. Soviet Armenia must pay for its crime of genocide against the
Muslims by admitting to the crime and making reparations to the Muslims.
Turks and Kurds demand the right to return to their lands, to determine
their own future as a nation in their own homeland. And, the justice is
long overdue.

Between 1914 and 1922, almost 3 million Muslims perished of starvation,
disease and butchery at the hands of the Armenians. The genocide involved
not only the killing of innocents but their forcible deportation from the
Russian Armenia. They were persecuted, banished, and slaughtered while
much of Ottoman Army was engaged in World War I. The Genocide Treaty
defines genocide as acting with a 'specific intent to destroy, in whole
or in substantial part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group.'
History shows that the Armenian dictatorship intended to eradicate
the Muslim population. Millions of Muslims - including women and
children who did not even violate any law - were exterminated by the
Armenians. International diplomats in Ottoman Empire at the time -
including Admiral Bristol - denounced the Armenian dictatorship's
policy as a massacre of the Kurds, Turks, and Tartars. The blood-thirsty
leaders of the Armenian dictatorship at the time personally involved in
the extermination of the Muslims. The Turkish genocide museums in Turkey
honor those who died during the Muslim massacres perpetrated by the
Armenians. People of Turkey deeply sympathize with those whose
relatives were killed in the Turkish genocide. I understand their
anger that there are those who still deny that the Turkish genocide
indeed took place, despite the fact that the genocide of millions of
Muslims has been well documented over the past six decades. This is
analogous to the denials that there was genocide against the Jewish
people in Nazi Germany. Obviously, a bold lie. We cannot reverse
the events of the past, but we can and we must strive to keep the
memory of this strategy alive on this side of the Atlantic, so as
to help prevent a recurrence of the extermination of a people
because of their religion or their race.

The eyewitness accounts and the historical documents established,
beyond any doubt, that the massacres against the Muslim people
during the war were planned and premeditated. The aim of the policy
was clearly the extermination of all Muslims in Armenian dictatorship
territories.

The Muslim men of Van, Bitlis, Mus, Erzurum and Erzincan districts and
their wives and children have been taken to the mountains and killed.
The massacres in Trabzon, Tercan, Yozgat and Adana were organized and
perpetrated by the blood-thirsty leaders of the Dashnaks and Hunchaks.

The principal organizers of the slaughter of innocent Muslims were
Dro, Antranik, Armen Garo, Hamarosp, Daro Pastirmadjian, Keri,
Karakin, Haig Pajise-liantz and Silikian.

Since all the Moslems capable of bearing arms were in the Turkish Army,
it was easy to organize a terrible massacre by the Armenians against
defenseless people, because the Armenians were not only attacking the
sides and rear of the Eastern Army paralyzed at the front by the
Russians, but were attacking the Moslem folk in the region as well.
The Armenian atrocities which I have witnessed were far worse than

"...in those Moslem villages in the plain below which had been searched for
arms by the Armenians everything had been taken under the cloak of such
search, and not only had many Moslems been killed, but horrible tortures
had been inflicted in the endeavour to obtain information as to where
valuables had been hidden, of which the Armenians were aware of the existence,
although they had been unable to find them."

p. 179 (first paragraph)

"Shortly afterwards the head of the miserable column appeared. There were
in all about 200 persons, mostly old men and women and children, with a
few ox-carts, ponies, and donkeys, carrying all their worldly possessions,
except a few sheep that they were driving before them. Their leader
interviewed Bekir Bey, and was told to keep farther on into the hills,
where he would be able to cross the frontier into Turkey unmolested by
his enemies."

p. 181 (first paragraph)

"...the Armenians from the plain were attacking the Kurdish line with
artillery, with probably a large force in support."

p. 175 (first paragraph)

"The arrival of this British brigade was followed by the announcement
that Kars Province had been allotted by the Supreme Council of the
Allies to the Armenians, and that announcement having been made, the
British troops were then completely withdrawn, and Armenian occupation
commenced. Hence all the trouble; for the Armenians at once commenced
the wholesale robbery and persecution of the Muslem population on the
pretext that it was necessary forcibly to deprive them of their arms.
In the portion of the province which lies in the plains they were able
to carry out their purpose, and the manner in which this was done will
be referred to in due course.

p. 241 (second paragraph)

"...he himself wished to 'drink the blood of the Turks', and also
to establish Bolshevik committees and every other kind of horror
all over the country."

According to Karabekir Pasha:

...

2. An Armenian detachment formed of infantrymen, cannons, and machine guns,
which wanted 3 million manat [local money] and 200 horses from the village
of Chakmak to the northwest of Kars, has demolished the village, and has
pillaged the properties and possessions of the inhabitants.

3. The Armenians demanded ninety thousand manat as ransom from twenty seven
Muslim villages in total in the region of Yukari Kotanli, Asagi Kotanli,
Oluklu, Kemerli, Tuzluca, Bocuklu, Subhanazat, Kars, Igdir, Cavlak, Pasli,
Karacayir, and said that if they did not give in, they would meet the same
fate as the village of Chakmak.

4. The Muslims who are being oppressed by the cruelties of the Armenians are
constantly asking our border commanders with the Malakan villages for help.
They tell of the attacks and atrocities of the Armenians, which have
increased considerably in recent times, and plead that their lives and
honour be protected. It has been confirmed that they are making preparations
to murder all the Muslims outside the border, and to pillage their
properties.

The enmity between the Turks and Armenians, which has been well known
in Russia and Europe for a long time, was not expected to have
manifested itself once again, during the First World War. It was
already acknowledged that the Armenians hated the Turks. Furthermore,
the Armenians had always attempted to present themselves as an
oppressed and tortured community, and had always succeeded in creating
the impression of a community, cruelly oppressed by the Turks, because
of the specific character of their racial and religious enmity towards
those people not of their religion.

The Russians, who have had considerable relations with the Armenians
hold a somewhat different opinion about the Armenians. The Armenians
are in fact a despicable community, without any significant value.
These people can only continue their survival by exploiting others.
Moreover, the Russian peasants have their own opinions about the
Armenians.

I have frequently heard it said among Russian soldiers that the
Armenians are as rough as bears...Among the Russian troops, the
Armenians had always been considered as inferior. Those people
prefer to do anything rather than go to the front to fight. The
attempts at desertion among the Armenians and self-inflicted wounds
to avoid going to the war have justified this opinion.

The things I have heard and seen during the two months, until the
liberation of Erzurum by the Turks, have surpassed all the
allegations concerning the vicious, degenerate characteristic of
the Armenians. During the Russian occupation of Erzurum, no Armenian
was permitted to approach the city and its environs."

"The Armenian bands would have to serve under the command of the
Russian army. This formal link would have certain advantages: It
would ensure the safety of the Turkish Armenians, since it would
deprive the Turks of an excuse for assaulting them; secondly, the
presence of the bands would deter the Turks from taking the offensive
since, in case of an emergency, they could easily infiltrate the
country, attack the regular troops from all sides, harassing them
and creating havoc, and intimidate the Kurdish community."

p. 862.

"Can it ever be assumed that the consequences of organizing such a
rebellion in the rear of an army engaged in action were not properly
weighted?...

Yet the Tsar, who promised the Armenians to grant their wishes in
order to incite them to rebellion, appears to have been aware of the
significance of the step taken by the Armenians. This awareness may
explain his attitude when he responded to the claims of the Armenians
over Cilicia in the words,

'All the demands of the Armenians will be fully met.'

The Tsar, perhaps, saw no harm in making promises that could not be
kept, since he may have thought that at the end there would be no
Armenians left in Armenia."

"The atrocities and massacres which have been committed for a long time
against the Muslim population within the Armenian Republic have been
confirmed with very accurate information, and the observations made by
Rawlinson, the British representative in Erzurum, have confirmed that
these atrocities are being committed by the Armenians. The United States
delegation of General Harbord has seen the thousands of refugees who came
to take refuge with Kazim Karabekir's soldiers, hungry and miserable,
their children and wives, their properties destroyed, and the delegation
was a witness to the cruelties. Many Muslim villages have been destroyed
by the soldiers of Armenian troops armed with cannons and machine guns
before the eyes of Karabekir's troops and the people. When it was hoped
that this operation would end, unfortunately since the beginning of
February the cruelties inflicted on the Muslim population of the region
of Shuraghel, Akpazar, Zarshad, and Childir have increased. According
to documented information, 28 Muslim villages have been destroyed in the
aforementioned region, more than 2,000 people have been slaughtered,
many possessions and livestock have been seized, young Muslim women
have been taken to Kars and Gumru, thousands of women and children who
were able to flee their villages were beaten, raped and massacred in the
mountains, and this aggression against the properties, lives, chastity
and honour of the Muslims continued. It was the responsibility of the
Armenian Government that the cruelties and massacres be stopped in order
to alleviate the tensions of Muslim public opinion due to the atrocities
committed by the Armenians, that the possessions taken from the Muslims
be returned and that indemnities be paid, that the properties, lives,
and honour of the Muslims be protected."

While the Commander of the First Army Corps, General Kaltiyin remained
in power, troops including Armenian enlisted men, were not sent to the
area. When the security measures were lifted, the Armenians began to
attack Erzurum and its surroundings. Following the attacks came the
plundering of the houses in the city and the villages and the murder
of the owners of these houses...Plundering was widely committed by
the soldiers. This plunder was mainly committed by Armenian soldiers
who had remained in the rear during the war.

One day, while passing through the streets on horseback, a group of
soldiers including an Armenian soldier began to drag two old men of
seventy years in a certain direction. The roads were covered with mud,
and these people were dragging the two helpless Turks through the mud
and dirt...

It was understood later that all these were nothing but tricks and
traps. The Turks who joined the gendarmarie soon changed their minds
and withdrew. The reason was that most of the Turks who were on night
patrol did not return, and no one knew what had happened to them. The
Turks who had been sent outside the city for labour began to disappear
also. Finally, the Court Martial which had been established for the
trials of murderers and plunderers, began to liquidate itself for
fear that they themselves would be punished. The incidents of murder
and rape, which had decreased, began to occur more frequently."

In the Armenian National Congress held in February 1915 in Tiflis, the
Dashnak representative gave the following report:

"As is well known, the Russian government contributed 242,900 roubles
at the beginning of the War for the provision of arms and training to
the Turkish Armenians as well as for organizing revolts in Turkish
Armenia. It is expected that our volunteer bands will penetrate the
Turkish lines, joining up with the insurrectionists and, if possible,
by creating panic in the rear of the Turkish army, help the advance
of the Russian troops and facilitate their invasion of Turkish
Armenia."

The Russian government had given Armenian politicians and activists free
rein to pursue their policies and to express their thoughts on one
condition alone: that they fulfilled their obligations to the Russians
by organizing a rebellion in Turkish Armenia within the specified time.

In accordance with the strategic plans and the orders of the Russian
military command, the Dashnaks took the following decision:

"As soon as the Armenian volunteer units commanded by Antranik approach
Van, the Dashnak fighters in the area will take to the mountains and
unfurl the flag of revolt. The plans for the rebellion will be
implemented in April 1915. The Catholicos has informed us that 10,000
armed fighters are ready to join the action."

In this way, the Dashnaks would be able to show that they had fulfilled
their obligations to the Tsar and to imperialist Russia. It is self-evident
that when tens of thousands of people take up arms in revolt against the
state immediately behind its lines of battle, that country's very existence
is at stake and the suppression of the rebellion becomes a matter of life
and death.

Forgive me if my questions look like from kindergarten, however, I am
really an admirer of your vast knowledge of Turkish words. So, please help.
What is the significance of this statement? Any sources for this marvelous
flight of slander? Is this the joke of the day? Are you claiming that the
word 'gokova' is not of Turkish origin? If so, please provide us with your
corrections rather than making disparaging remarks and spitting your bigotry
out.

You still remind me of the following story that people of Black Sea
shores of 'Turkiye' tell, though.

A fumingly furious gorilla of a man enters a garden restaurant full
of people and asks: 'Which of you here is Temel Rizeli?' A puny
little man says that he is Temel Rizeli. The big man grabs him, beats
him to a pulp, kicks him, slaps him, throws him to the ground and
leaves the restaurant. While everyone watches this terrible event,
the little man slowly and painfully manages to sit up on the floor.
He difficultly shows some sort of a smile on his bloody face and
says: 'Ha! ha! I cheated him, I am not Temel Rizeli, I got him!'

Your remark is the result of watching TV too much and subscribing to the
ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism and Revisionism Triangle's propaganda movie
scripts, lies, forgeries and fabrications.

Speaking of Nazi theories,

Source: Walker, Christopher: "Armenia: The Survival of a Nation."
New York (St. Martin's Press), 1980.

This generally pro-Armenian work contains the following information
of direct relevance to the Nazi Holocaust:

a) Dro (the butcher), the former Dictator of the Armenian Dictatorship and
the architect of the Turkish Genocide, the most respected of Armenian
Nationalist leaders, established an Armenian Provisional Republic in Berlin
during World War II.;

b) this 'provisional government' fully endorsed and espoused the social
theories of the Nazis, declared themselves and all Armenians to be members
of the Aryan 'Super-Race;'

c) they published an Anti-Semitic, racist journal, thereby aligning themselves
with the Nazis and their efforts to exterminate the Jews; and,

d) they mobilized an Armenian Army of up to 20,000 members which fought side
by side with the Wehrmacht.

While today the Armenian propagandists fervently curry favor with the Jewish
people, during World War II they were carried away with the German might and
cringing and fawning over the Nazis. In that zeal, the Armenian publication
in Germany, Hairenik, carried statements as follows:

"Sometimes it is difficult to eradicate these poisonous elements (the Jews)
when they have struck deep root like a chronic disease, and when it
becomes necessary for a people (the Nazis) to eradicate them in an uncommon
method, these attempts are regarded as revolutionary. During the surgical
operation, the flow of blood is a natural thing."

In 1941, while the Jews were being assembled for their doom in the Nazi
concentration camps, the Armenian volunteers in Germany formed the first
Armenian battalion to fight alongside the Nazis. In 1943, this battalion
had grown into eight battalions of 20,000-strong under the command of the
former guerilla leader Dro (the butcher), who was the former dictator of the
short-lived Armenian Dictatorship (1918-1920) and the architect of the Turkish
Genocide. An Armenian National Council was formed by the notorious Dashnak
Party leaders in Berlin, which was recognized by the Nazis. Encouraged by
this, the Armenians summarily formed a provisional government that endorsed
and espoused fully the principles of the Nazis and declared themselves as the
members of the Aryan super race and full participants to Hitler's policy of
extermination of the Jews.

This Armenian-Nazi conspiracy against the Jews during WWII was an "encore"
performance staged by the Armenians during WWI, when they back-stabbed and
exterminated the Turks by colluding with the invading Russian army.

Now for a brief view of the Armenian genocide of the Muslims and Jews -
extracts from a letter dated December 11, 1983, published in the San
Francisco Chronicle, as an answer to a letter that had been published
in the same journal under the signature of one B. Amarian.

"...We have first hand information and evidence of Armenian atrocities
against our people (Jews) which preceded the so-called massacre of
Armenians which you allege in 1915. Members of our family witnessed
the murder of 148 members of our family near Erzurum, Turkey, by
Armenian neighbors, bent on destroying anything and anybody remotely
Jewish and/or Muslim. Armenians should look to their own history and
see the havoc they and their ancestors perpetrated upon their neighbors...
Armenians were in league with Hitler in the last war, on his premise
to grant them self government if, in return, the Armenians would
help exterminate Jews...Armenians were also hearty proponents of
the anti-Semitic acts in league with the Russian Communists. Mr. Amarian!
Prove that, as you say, a large scale massacre of Armenians occurred.
I don't need you bias."

Signed Elihu Ben Levi, Vacaville, California.

Source: "Mitteilungsblatt, Berlin, December 1939, Nr. 2 and 5-6"

Yet another historical fact: a fact that for years has been deliberately
forgotten, concealed, and wiped from memory - the fact of Armenian-Nazi
collaboration.

A magazine called Mitteilungsblatt der Deutsch-Armenischen Gesselschaft
is the clearest and most definite proof of this collaboration. The
magazine was first published in Berlin in 1938 during Nazi rule of Germany
and continued publication until the end of 1944. Even the name of the
magazine, which implies a declaration of Armenian-Nazi cooperation,
is attention-getting.

This magazine, every issue of which proves the collaboration, is historically
important as documentary evidence. It is a heap of writing that should be
an admonition to world opinion and to all mankind. Every issue embroiders
the themes of enmity towards Turkey and towards Turks.

In Nazi Germany, Armenians were considered to be an Aryan race and certain
political, economic, and social rights were thus granted to them. They
occupied positions in public service and were partners in Nazi practices.
The whole world of course knows what awaited those who were not considered
"Aryan" and what befell them.

against the Muslims in the areas of Ordubad, Nahjivan, and Vedibasar

much courage and sacrifice...The Muslims in the area of Vedibasar have

"Acting Commander of Erzurum and Deveboynu regions and Commander of the
Second Erzurum Artillery Regiment Prisoner of War, Lieutenant Colonel
Twerdokhlebof:

Sometime in January and February, a leading Turkish citizen Haci Bekir
Efendi from Erzurum, was killed one night at his home. The Commander
in Chief (Odiselidge) gave orders to find murderers within three days.
The Commander in Chief has bitterly reminded the Armenian intellectuals
that disobedience among the Armenian enlisted men had reached its
highest point, that they had insulted and robbed the people and half
of the Turks sent outside the city had not returned.

...We learnt the details this incident from the Commander-in-Chief,
Odishelidge. they were as follows:

The killings were organized by the doctors and the employers, and the
act of killing was committed solely by the Armenian renegades...
More than eight hundred unarmed and defenceless Turks have been
killed in Erzincan. Large holes were dug and the defenceless
Turks were slaughtered like animals next to the holes. Later, the
murdered Turks were thrown into the holes. The Armenian who stood
near the hole would say when the hole was filled with the corpses:
'Seventy dead bodies, well, this hole can take ten more.' Thus ten
more Turks would be cut into pieces, thrown into the hole, and when
the hole was full it would be covered over with soil."

The activities planned by the Armenian committees may be summarized
as follows:

1. To desert from the Turkish army in groups together with arms and
ammunition.

2. To create disorder and panic in order to induce the Turkish soldiers
to desert and return home to protect their families and villages.

3. To seize military transportation and to attack convoys of soldiers,
provisions and equipment.

4. To take up arms as soon as the Russians crossed the border and
encircle the Turkish army from behind.

5. To desert together with arms and ammunition and join the Russian army
as volunteers.

6. To burn farm produce as well as churches and houses before leaving
the villages.

7. To engage in spying on behalf of the Allied states.

8. To demoralize the Turks and spread propaganda to make them desert the
army.

Subversive activities from which preparations had been made since the
declaration of the mobilization were carried out in accordance with the
plan outlined above. The first rebellion broke out in Zeytun...

Particularly during the fall of Van and the march of the Russians on
the eastern provinces, the Muslims population was ruthlessly slaughtered
by Armenian volunteer revenge units.

"Mevlana on Love and Mysticism"

by Kemal Cakman

Come, whoever you are
Doesn't matter if you are an unbeliever
Doesn't matter if you have fallen a thousand times
Come
Come whoever you are;
for this is not the door of despair
Come just as you are!

In Mevlana's mind, such was the unconditional acceptance of all persons
as they are. Such was the openness of his heart. He was a mystic poet who
had transcended all the narrower boundaries of thought, theology and
religion. He was a Sufi Master and was so intensely inspired by the spirit
of love that he left behind an incredible number of verses - over 56 thousand
couplets, to be exact...He was a "teacher" of such dimensions that even amidst
the religious dogmatism and wars which raged during the 12th century, he
gathered around himself a group of disciples who included not only Moslems
but also Christians and Jews.

Theological thought, both in the West and in the East (that is to say
conventional theological thought of old) used to make a distinction between
the love of God and the love directed towards human beings - and that, in
spite of some remarkable verses in the Bible which clearly bridge the two
"types" of love: "Love God with all your heart and love each other as you
love yourselves."

Mevlana, however, not only builds similar bridges in his thought, but also
goes a step further...Sufi Masters talk of a level of consciousness which
they term "consciousness of unity" or "consciousness of union." If we do
not do injustice to their understanding, we can summarize this concept as
an awareness in which a person sees that all human beings, are "united"
in some spiritual fashion the details and the nature of which are difficult
to explicate. Suffice it to say that the Sufi Masters, and among them the
poet Mevlana, have clearly stated that human beings exist in a spiritual
world whereby they are connected to God and to each other even while living
here on earth, and that they reflect the essence of God in their being. They
further state that the purer, that is to say the more full of love a human
being is, the clearer is that reflection in the mirror of being. In this
context, Mevlana talks of "untarnished" mirrors and "tarnished" mirrors,
referring to the state of consciousness in different human beings, the
yard-stick being "love."

Indeed, we may summarize Mevlana's understanding of ultimate "reality"
in two succinct words: "Love" and "transcendence." In his mind these two
are related, and further, they thrive on each others' growth.

Love, when it is pure, is such a force that it refuses to judge and
condemn - not because it is blind, but on the contrary because it sees
clearly...and accepts. For acceptance is a form of worship and humbleness.
From a certain level of consciousness, one sees that in essence human beings
are indeed very much alike, and that the apparent differences are due to the
nature and necessities of "the relative world."

"The relative is full, and the absolute is full.
Therefore rejoice"

say the Hindu texts.

But if all "relative" life is united in some spiritual level which defies
definition in our present state of knowledge, is it not absurd to condemn?

"Judge not, lest thou be judged"

says the Bible. And

"Love everyone who lives under the sun"

go the lyrics of a song.

Love accepts human beings as they are - without condemnation and even without
criticism. And when criticism is a must, where love is, it is given without
any lessening of love.

Come, whoever you are
Doesn't matter if you have any faith or not
Doesn't matter if you have fallen a thousand times
Come
Come whoever you are

Such openness and tolerance is rooted in love itself. It is not a tolerance
based upon principles. Nor is it a tolerance based upon a religious
commandment. It is just an expression of the welling of love in a heart
which has fathomed its own depth, and found absolute love at its deepest
levels. How? We can not really say - except that....Well, that is the
mystery of life and evolution of human consciousness, the solving of
which means the end of the world for the knower - a dying to the
world-as-normally-perceived and an awakening which makes one see the
world in a totally new light.

Oh be quiet my mind
Oh beloved: this poem is ashamed of Thee.

Mevlana often ends his poems by admonishing himself to be quiet. And to
reach silence. For silence is itself a way to cultivate that which allows
the growth of love. For only in silence can one hear properly...Because to
the degree that silence is established in the ever-continuing activity of
the nervous system, to that degree one hears the whisperings of the
eternal beloved better.

For Mevlana this is what human consciousness is heading for in its growth:
Love begins with the hearing of that "whisper." And its growth ends in
uniting with the "source" of that "whisper."

But words cannot express it: Therefore he says "Oh beloved, this poem is
ashamed of Thee" as if it seemed to him that attempting to "express" the
beauty, the joy, the ecstasy in feeling the Beloved and in uniting with
the Beloved was tantamount to sacrilege. Therefore the apology.

Intellect too cannot totally grasp it: Because its roots are deep in the
heart, for which he had much regard. The "heart" for Mevlana, far from
being a part of man where evil lurks, was the very space where love was
rooted - the abstract region of the being through which Man could comprehend
or "see" love, which forever defied the linear thought processes of words
and logic and intellect. This does not mean that he belittled these latter
aspects of Man. After all he himself was a poet and a philosopher - a man
of thought and intellect. However, though he wrote over 112 thousand lines
of poetry, Mevlana knew well that "love" itself could not very well be
transmitted by poetry. Words, paper and ink are not its medium. Its medium
is human being...Or more mystically put - its medium is "being" ... period.

For thee
there are always
many friends - pure, loving and good
both here on earth and in the other worlds among the stars.
But beloved please
please remember your promise
which you have made to this old friend of thine.
Remember
once you saw
that plateau of Love: saffron branches embracing august roses
on the shores of that sea
which had been created
by the transformation of my sight and me.
Oh beloved
Love is my religion since I've seen your face
My religion is
rejoicing in the appearance of your face.
Forget this not beloved
Forget this not.

In a country further east than Turkey, there is a saying which had been
recorded from the lips of ancient sages: They say: "There is a Banyan tree
with its rots upwards in the sky." And they mean that the endless Being has
organized the spiritual world and the evolution of human consciousness and
bodies in such a fashion that all the good things granted to man are truly
the gifts of some heavenly sap, much as the fruits and the leaves on the many
branches of the Banyan tree grow through the sap which rises from the roots.

But who will cultivate the gardens?

Come back, step back!
Yield further.
Where thinkst thou these wars will take you?
See
I am but you, and you are but me.
Why such resistance?
Why doth light retreat from light itself?
All of us
all are but one fully formed being
But how come we have become
so blind?
The rich feel superior to the poor. Why?
The right hand is disapproving of the left. Why?
Both are but your hands. So why
this stance
as if you wish strike thyself?
And pray tell me: What is holy and what is not?
Unite with the rest of your brethren
Touch others, enter their hearts
When you do, you become an ocean.
Try and stand all alone
And you are just a drop
There are many ways to communicate
and in each, meaning abounds
Just dare break those doors and those defensive walls
and you'd see how the waters would flow
With what abundance!

We perhaps should not attempt to add a commentary to that poetic statement
of "a-human-spiritual-unity" - suffice it to say that it sounds like the
poetic expression of what Pierre Teilhard de Chardin once called
"the noosphere" in his book "The Future of Man." Mevlana, however, had
become quite a part of "noogenesis" more than 7 centuries ago. It must be
emphasized, however, that (for Mevlana) the route to such a state of unity
or unity-consciousness must pass through the experience of "pure love"
with all its manifestations, human and divine, and that further the roots
of any "true" religion lie exactly in this sphere - of love. Perhaps it
would be best to conclude by quoting Mevlana himself, in a poem where he
addresses God as "a beloved."

Love is my religion since the day I've seen your face
Your love directs my spirit, since I've received your grace
Forget this not beloved.

Forget this not
for thou hast filled my heart.

against the Armenian inhabitants. This was witnessed also by the

'All the Americans in Kars are well and the Turkish Army gives us
excellent protection and all consideration. We have permission as

well disciplined and there have been no massacres.'

Even before the war between the Ottoman Empire and Russia started,
military preparations were already being made in Transcaucasia. Armenian
volunteers flocked from everywhere to Transcaucasia, and Tiflis in
particular, in order to enlist in the Russian army or to join the
bands and revenge squads organized for the fight against Turkey.
Antranik was brought over to Tiflis; Garegin Pastirmadjian, formerly
the Erzurum deputy in the Ottoman Parliament, was sent by the Committee
to Transcaucasia in order to supervise the preparations. The
Dashnaktsutiun itself became fully active. Tchalkouchian gives the
following account of the activities during this period:

"...The time has come for the Armenians to prove their unwavering
loyalty to the Russian nation. The Armenians must not shrink from
sacrifices to save their brothers across the border."

In October 1914, the Tsar declared war on the Ottoman Empire and
ordered the Russian army to cross the Turkish border. On the same date,
the Dashnaktsutiun also declared war on Turkey. The Committee published
the following report in the newspaper, Horizon:

"Today, the time has come to put an end to the bloody history of the
martyrdom of the Turkish Armenians. In the changing circumstances
of our own day the Armenians will have authority over their own
administration and will fight with their own forces against their
enemies on their own soil.

It is evident that the Armenians had to determine their policy and
join one or the other side. In effect, they chose to support the
Allied Powers and to place all their forces under the command of
Russia. ...The Armenians are strongly aware of the causes which led
them to take this stand and are, therefore, organizing and preparing
themselves accordingly.

Throughout history the Armenians have been extremely cautious and this
caution has been frequently interpreted as cowardice or servility.
Today is not a time for caution. The Armenians stand up with a clear
conscience. Apart from the Armenians in the Russian armies, they
form volunteer bands which also participate in the war on the battle
field. These will fight in the same ranks as the Russian soldiers and
by helping them with their modest forces, they will secure victory
for the Allied States."

"Kazim Karabekir Pasha explained to his soldiers in a speech the reasons
for and the goals of the Eastern campaign. He began his speech by
saying

'My self-sacrificing friends,'

and continued, in a sense analyzing the two views - realism based on
the principle of power and moralism lying at the foundation of
self-determination - which were fighting against each other at that
time in the international political system:

'Vast and terrible wars are being fought in several parts of the world.
One side wants to chain innocent and downtrodden nations with the
chain of slavery, wants to fill its coffers with their wealth, and
wants to build palaces for itself and to have magnificence while
using the others by force and oppression. England and France are the
leaders of this side, and among the countries that they misled,
Armenian has harmed us most. The other side wants to liberate nations
which are groaning under oppression and slavery, wants to hold in
equity all the peoples in the world, and wants every nation to lead
a humane life in its country in peace and welfare.'

The Commander-in-Chief of the Eastern Armies reminded his soldiers
that when the Turks had laid down their arms with the Armistice, the
Allies went into action to plunder their country and to bury them
alive as a nation. He also described briefly how the West used the
Armenians to realize its goals concerning Anatolia:

'...They gave the duty of exterminating the Turks to Armenia.'"

You seem to be arguing with yourself. I never said a word about g-d, although
I did say quite a bit about the truth.

Millions of Turks lost grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts and uncles at
the hands of Armenian genocide squads trying to establish an independent state
in an area where the Armenians were in the overwhelming minority. There was
a "Genocide of the Muslims" carried out by the Armenians. The genocide of
millions of Muslims must be exposed in detail, because it is the first modern
example of the horrible crime of genocide. Blame must be apportioned to
the Armenians and their supporters for the murder of Muslims.

that is the wholesale extermination of millions of Muslims by the Armenians
before, during and after World War I.

University of California Press (Berkeley and Los Angeles), 1967, p. 13.

"The addition of the Kars and Batum oblasts to the Empire increased the
area of Transcaucasia to over 130,000 square miles. The estimated population
of the entire region in 1886 was 4,700,000, of whom 940,000 (20 percent) were
Armenian, 1,200,000 (25 percent) Georgian, and 2,220,000 (45 percent) Moslem.
Of the latter group, 1,140,000 were Tatars. Paradoxically, barely one-third
of Transcaucasia's Armenians lived in the Erevan guberniia, where the
Christians constituted a majority in only three of the seven uezds. Erevan
uezd, the administrative center of the province, had only 44,000 Armenians
as compared to 68,000 Moslems. By the time of the Russian Census of 1897,
however, the Armenians had established a scant majority, 53 percent, in the
guberniia; it had risen by 1916 to 60 percent, or 670,000 of the 1,120,000
inhabitants. This impressive change in the province's ethnic character
notwithstanding, there was, on the eve of the creation of the Armenian
Republic, a solid block of 370,000 Tartars who continued to dominate the
southern districts, from the outskirts of Ereven to the border of Persia."

In 1920, 0% Muslims, 100% Armenians.

During the years of World War I, the Armenian dictatorship has planned
and perpetrated the genocide of the Turkish people, which not only took
the lives of millions of Muslims, but was also the method used to empty
the Turkish homeland of its inhabitants. To this day, Turkish historic
lands remain occupied by the Soviet Armenia. In order to cover up the
fact of its usurpation of the historic Turkish homeland, which is the
crux of Turkish political demands, communist Soviet Armenia continues
its anti-Turkish policy in the following ways:

1. Soviet Armenia denies the historical fact of the Turkish Genocide
in order to shift international public opinion away from its political
responsibility.

2. Soviet Armenia, employing pseudo-scholars, ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism
and Revisionism Triangle, paid liars and racists, and terrorists attempts
to call into question the veracity of the Turkish Genocide.

3. Soviet Armenia has also implemented state-sponsored terrorism through
ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism Triangle in an attempt to silence the Turkish
people's vehement demands and protests.

4. Using all its human, financial, and governmental resources, Soviet
Armenia and its tools in the United States attempt to silence through
terrorism, bribery and other subversive methods, non-Turkish supporters
of the Turkish cause, be they political, governmental and humanitarian.

Using all the aforementioned methods, the Soviet Armenian government is
attempting to neutralize the international diplomatic community from
making the Turkish Case a contemporary issue.

Yet despite the efforts of the Soviet Armenian government and its terrorist
and revisionist organizations, in the last decades, thanks to the struggle
of those whose closest ones were systematically exterminated by the Armenians,
the international wall of silence on this issue has begun to collapse, and
consequently a number of governments and organizations have become
supportive of the recognition of the Turkish Genocide.

With the full knowledge that the struggle for the Turkish territorial
demands are still in their initial stages, the Turkish and Kurdish people
will unflaggingly continue in this sacred struggle, therefore the victims
of the Turkish Genocide demand:

1. that the Soviet Armenian Government, as the heirs of the Armenian
dictatorship, recognize the Turkish Genocide;

2. that Soviet Armenia return the historic homeland to the Turkish and
Kurdish people;

3. that the Soviet Armenian Government make material reparations for their
heinous and unspeakable crime to the victims of the Turkish Genocide;

4. that all world governments, and especially the Soviet Union, officially
recognize the Turkish Genocide and Turkish territorial rights and refuse
to succumb to all Armenian political pressure;

5. that the U.S. Government free itself from the friendly position it has
adopted towards its unreliable ally, Soviet Armenia, and officially
recognize the historical fact of the Turkish Genocide as well as be
supportive of the pursuit of Turkish territorial demands;

6. that the Soviet Central Government officially recognize the historical
fact of the Turkish Genocide and include the cold-blooded extermination
of millions of Muslims in history books.

The awareness of the Turkish people of the necessity of solidarity in the
efforts to pursue the Turkish Cause is seen by the victims of the first
genocide of the 20th century as a positive step. Furthermore, a new
generation has risen - equipped with a deep sense of commitment, politically
mature and conscious, who determinedly pursue the Turkish Cause, through
all necessary means, ranging from the political and diplomatic to the
armed struggle. Therefore, the victims of the Turkish Genocide call upon
all Turks and Kurds in the United States to participate vigorously
in the political, cultural and religious activities of the 77th Anniversary
of the Turkish Genocide.

>It appears as though the truth is very difficult for certain individuals
>to accept.

I agree that the truth is sometimes hard to swallow.

There were many Russian Armenians among the leaders and members of
the Hunchak Revolutionary Party.[1] The Hunchak Revolutionary Party
declared that its goal was to "free the Turkish Armenia" and Part IV
of its political program makes clear the methods to be used for this
purpose:

The only way of achieving our immediate goal is to start a revolution,
that is, using force to upset all order in the Turkish Armenia, forcing
the people to start a war against the Turkish Government with a general
revolution.

The means of these activities are:

1. Propaganda: using the press, publications and oral means to spread the
revolutionary ideas of Hunchak in the millet, and especially among the
workers, establishing a revolutionary organization among them, and
organizing revolutionary regiments.

2. Terror: using terror as punishment against Turkish administrators, secret
agents, informers, and traitors. Terror must be a means and a weapon for
protecting the revolutionary organization.

3. Raider regiments organization: military units kept ready to fight against...
government forces. These regiments can serve as vanguard regiments during
general revolutions.

4. General revolutionary organization: comprises several regular groups all of
which are attached to each other to form a unity and a harmonious whole,
all of which use the same tactics to advance in the same general and
common direction, and all of which are administered and directed by a
central committee.

5. Revolutionary regiments organization.

6. The declaration of a war by any state against Turkey should be considered
as the most opportune time for the general revolution, for the immediate
goal.

"Armenian communities in many parts of the world - notably in France and
the U.S. - have been remarkably equivocal about such terrorism. The
terrorists are remembered in Armenian church service and large sums
are collected in Armenian communities for their defense when they are
put on trial. The climate for this astonishing advocacy of violence
is maintained by an emotionalized version of Armenian history which
is propagated in the ethnic press, taught in cultural programs and
pressed on school authorities for inclusion in curricula. Even in the
1970s it has been hard to find a more extreme version of what American
historian has called 'creedal passion'[1] which provokes populations
to irresponsible behavior. Armenian-origin intellectuals and journalists
have become viciously intolerant of non-Armenian-origin colleagues who
do not accept their biases and who venture to question Armenian
statistics or try to examine Armenian, Ottoman and relevant Russian
historical records according to recognized standards of objectivity
and respect for methodology."

Now that the world is taking closer look at the Armenian hoax and
studying sources other than those dictated by the Armenian fanatics and
terrorists, we are seeing a different picture. That picture is the Armenian
genocide of the millions of Muslims in eastern Anatolia and the cold-blooded
wholesale extermination of the entire Muslim population in short-lived
Armenian Dictatorship.

Reporter, January 17, 1985, p. 1.

"Beirut, Lebanon - A leftist Armenian group earlier in the week, declared
full support for Jihad Islami, an extremist organization that has claimed
several anti-American bombing attacks and gun-point abductions in Lebanon
over the past few months.

The Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA), expressed
its support for the radical Lebanese group for its revolutionary activities
in a statement which was distributed to Western wire services here. The
statement said Jihad Islamic organization, which translates as Islamic
Holy War, with its revolutionary activities 'has brought new momentum
to the righteous struggle of oppressed people of the Middle East and
the struggle for the liberation of Western Armenia from the fascist
Turkish regime.'

'Jihad Islami' is believed to have been composed of radical Shiite
Moslems, who are loyal of Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini. The group has
also maintained close links with other such radical organizations,
including the 'Party of God,' which has claimed the bombings of the
U.S. Embassy first in West Beirut, and then in East Beirut.'

"No sir, you will not find Armenians who will express disapproval or
distress for the assassination of Turkish governmental officials. It
is unfortunate that the attitude of the Turkish government vis-a-vis
Armenian demands dictates that more people have to die in pursuit of
justice."

I am sorry but all I observed in Coras' well versed articles was an incredibly
clear expose' of an undisputed liar and terrorism advocate based on scholarly
studies and substantiated proofs. What seems to be the problem? I think, you
should be grateful that a criminal and its terrorist organization has been
identified.

> Hey, do us all a favor and keep this diatribe in e-mail, OK?

Why? You are speaking out of mere selfishness.

I, for one, am amazed to see the real face of a registered liar, a
criminal and a racist whose charter calls for the extermination and
elimination of the people of Turkey. The number of lies which have been
concocted by the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism and Revisionism Triangle so far
on this net in order to degrade the honor and the reputation of a nation
and its marvelous and self-sacrificing people is simply appalling. I would
like to thank Mr. Coras for exposing each and every one of those lies,
fabrications and forgeries which were deliberately designed to tarnish the
image of a nation and its people by the criminal and racist members of the
ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism and Revisionism Triangle. His efforts are certainly
commendable.

> If those of us who reside in talk.politics.misc were interested in the
> Turk-Armenian squabble, we'd read the appropriate newsgroups. As it is,
> you're just wasting a great deal of money posting huge hysterical
> denouncements of David Davidian. That kind of stuff *belongs* in e-mail.

I beg to disagree. Keep up the good work, Mr. Coras. I, along with a large
group of people, have been following each and every single line of your
articles, exposing a racist and a compulsive liar and its denial of the
Turkish genocide based on scholarly works and authentic historical
documents.

> The number of net.etiquette "rules" you're violating is approaching a very
> large number.

Where were you so far, Mr., when the lives of the netters have been threatened
by the blood-thirsty members of the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism and Revisionism
Triangle whose charter calls for yet another genocide of the Turkish and
Kurdish people?

> Again, *TAKE IT TO E-MAIL*!

Again, who the hell are you? Grand moderator of the newsgroups? If you have
anything to add to the expose' of the Armenian genocide of millions of
Muslims before, during and after World War I, be my guest. Otherwise,
go back to your corner where you were born.

When the Ottoman soldiers entered the city of Erzincan they found all
public and Islamic buildings and more than 1,000 houses demolished
by the Armenians.

Hundreds of bodies of Erzincan's Turks were found in the streets,
hundreds more in wells or shallow graves. In other cities the scenes
awaiting the Ottoman soldiers were similar. 400 buildings in Bayburt
had been burned down and hundreds of bodies were in the streets.
Tercan had been completely destroyed by dynamite. In Erzurum, the
greatest city of the east, Ottoman officials estimated that 8,000
Turks had been killed in the city alone. The figure may have been
exaggerated, but the soldiers did count and record each body buried
by them and 2,127 male bodies were buried in the first 8 days.
Out of a sense of decency, the soldiers did not count the female
bodies buried or report what had happened to them.

The atrocities in the cities were repeated in the villages. On the
Armenian line of retreat the Muslims who could not flee were killed.
Very few houses and no complete villages remained. An Austrian
newspaper reporter, who could not be accused of liking the Russians,
Austria's enemy, stated that the Russians had treated the people of
the region relatively well, but that when Russia collapsed Armenian
gangs destroyed the Turks. Dr. Stephan Eshnanic traveled the region
and wrote

"I have been observing the evidence of the cruelties of the Armenians
at almost every step. All the villages from Trabzon to Erzincan and
from Erzincan to Erzurum are destroyed."[1]

Turkish refugees, the remainder of the original population, who had
been able to remain during the Russian occupation, now choked the
roads.

It is instructive that American missionaries were allowed by the
Ottomans (and later the Turkish Army) to continue to feed and clothe
Armenian orphans. No record exists of Armenians allowing the same
latitude to Turkish orphans.

> [rather a lot]

Whether it was a lot or not beside the point. The content of Mr. Coras'
article, however, was more than enough to expose a compulsive liar and
criminal whose aim was to degrade the reputation of and to exterminate
the people of Turkey through the most despicable and cowardly methods.

>Please go away.

I am somewhat (though not completely) surprised that you would make this
argument. Even accepting this disgusting view, which I do not, I will ask
again: Why? Just because Mr. Coras identified a criminal and an exposed
liar in the society in which we all live in peace and its terrorist
organization whose charter is to slaughter and exterminate innocent human
beings, that is the Turks and Kurds, because of their race, religion and
national origin as was successfully achieved by the Armenian genocide squads
through the extermination of millions of Muslim people before, during and
after World War I.

Please, do not go away, Mr. Coras.

>1) I don't care,

Who cares whether you care or not? All in all, you are just another brick in
the wall. BTW, are you incapable of using your terminal with enough features?

>2) I have no way to evaluate your evidence, so it might be *you* who's lying,

This one is rather miserable. Have you ever heard of a place called library,
Mr.? Are you one of those people who does not know how to conduct a research?
Mr. Coras has been providing hundreds of publicly available historical
documents on the Armenian genocide of millions of Muslims and I have
been able to obtain every single one of them in a local university library.
Are you living in the middle of a corn field with no written material around?
BTW, I have not seen you complaining about the lies, fabrications and
forgeries posted by the exposed criminals of the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism
and Revisionism Triangle before? Could it be that you happen to be
an associate member of the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism and Revisionism
Triangle and are trying to cover up one of the greatest crimes of this
century committed by the Armenians? Or, is it because you are trying to
protect an exposed liar and a racist? Not a chance, Mr.

>and 3) stop shouting at us, you're beginning to sound like ARF.

Your response is an insult to the silent memory of millions of Muslims
who were deliberately exterminated by the Armenians before, during and
after World War I. Mr. Coras' article was the voice of those victims who
have been unfortunately ruthlessly slaughtered by the Armenian genocide squads.
I see. If you don't like the message, shoot the messenger. If you ever
dare to repeat your bigotry on this net again, you will be entertained
rather differently, Mr.

Speaking of ARF, though,

"Corpses came next, the first a pretty child with straight black hair, large
eyes. She looked about twelve years old. She lay in some stubble where meal
lay scattered from the sack she'd been toting. The bayonet had gone through
her back, I judged, for blood around was scant. Between the breasts one clot,
too small for a bullet wound, crusted her homespun dress.

The next was a boy of ten or less, in rawhide jacket and knee-pants. He lay
face down in the path by several huts. One arm reached out to the pewter
bowl he'd carried, now upset upon its dough. Steel had jabbed just below
his neck, into the spine.

There were grownups, too, I saw as I led the sorrel around. Djul was empty
of the living till I looked up to see beside me Dro's German-speaking colonel.
He said all Tartars who had not escaped were dead."

Now, let us see what an Armenian officer had to say about the Armenian
genocide of millions of Muslims.

mercifully, were shot. Many of them were burned to death. The method
employed was to put a quantity of straw into a hut, and then after
crowding the hut with Turks, set fire to the straw."

intolerable. Look - and here he pointed to a file of official documents

Wardrop has sent me. The official Tartar communique speaks of the
destruction of 300 villages."

From "Foreword:"

"For example, we were camped one night in a half-ruined Tartar mosque, the most
habitable building of a destroyed village, near the border of Persia and
Russian Armenia. During the course of evening I asked Ohanus if he could tell
me anything of the history of the village and the cause of its destruction.
In his matter of fact way he replied, Yes, I assisted in its sack and
destruction, and witnessed the slaying of those whose bones you saw to-day
scattered among its ruins."

p. 20 (second paragraph).

"Our men armed themselves, gathered together and advanced on the Tartar
section of the village. There were no lights in the houses and the doors
were barred, for the Tartars suspected what as to happen and were in great
fear. Our men hammered on the doors, but got no response; whereupon they
smashed in the doors and began a carnage that continued until the last
Tartar was slain. Throughout the hideous night, I cowered at home in terror,
unable to shut my ears to the piercing screams of the helpless victims and
the loud shouts of our men. By morning the work was finished."

p. 118.

"Slowly the train of oxcarts lumbered along through the snow, the cart
jolting and the loads swaying. Boys ran along the line of oxen, encouraging
them with shrill Tartar cries, and belaboring the beasts with sticks. In the
carts, the women, veiled as is the Tartar way, held children in their arms.
Wrapped in blankets and huddled among the goods that burdened the carts they
sought protection from the wind and cold. A few old men plodded along on foot.

Across the road through the ravine a barrier had been thrown. The leading
oxteam reached this barrier and halted. The gunmen and other ruffians
concealed among the rocks opened fire. Women and children leaped and
scrambled from the carts, screamed, ran and sought vainly for safety.

This massacre was not complete. The Armenian soldiers in the near-by
barracks, hearing the firing and the turmoil, hurried to the scene....
That same day the abandoned Tartar quarter of Alexandropol was looted
and completely destroyed."

p. 186.

"The Tartars were lying on the ground, bound hand and foot. ....Tartar
women, who in their eagerness to see what was going on had thrown back
their veils, were peering over the wall that enclosed the yard. At an
order from the commandant the soldiers began beating the Tartars. The
latter squirmed and screamed. The women raised a great uproar with their
shrieks and pleadings that mercy be shown their men. The punishment
continued until I thought it must be the intention of the commandant
to have the men beaten to death. He invited me to take a stick and flog
them. I could have found no pleasure in doing so and begged to be
excused."

p. 192.

"Great swarms of peasants who had come out of their hiding-places on the
retreat of the Turks followed our army as it advanced.... They entered
into the city with the army and immediately began plundering the stores
that had been left by the Turks."

were destroyed and they themselves were slain or driven out of the country."

(American officer who observed the Armenian genocide of the Muslims)

'How many people lived there?'
'Oh, about eight hundred.' He yawned.
'Did you see any Turk officers?'
'No, sir. I was in at dawn. All were Tartar civilians in mufti.'

"The lieutenant dozed off, then I, but in the small hours a voice woke me -
Dro's. He stood in the starlight bawling out an officer. Anyone keelhauled
so long and furiously I'd never heard. Then abruptly Dro broke into
laughter, quick and simple as child's. Both were a cover for his sense
of guilt, I thought, or hoped. For somehow, despite my boast of irreligion,
Christian massacring 'infidels' was more horrible than the reverse would
have been.

From daybreak on, Armenian villagers poured in from miles around.....
The women plundered happily, chattering like ravens as they picked over
the carcass of Djul. They hauled out every hovel's chattels, the last scrap
of food or cloth, and staggered away, packing pots, saddlebags, looms, even
spinning-wheels.

'Thank you for a lot, Dro,' I said to him back in camp. 'But now I must leave.'
... We shook hands, the captain said 'A bientot, mon camarade.' And for hours
the old Molokan scout and I plodded north across parching plains. Like Lot's
wife I looked back once to see smoke bathing all, doubtless in a sack of
other Moslem villages up to the line of snow that was Iran.'

p. 354.

"At morning tea, Dro and his officers spread out a map of this whole
high region called the Karabakh. Deep in tactics, they spoke Russian,
but I got their contempt for Allied 'neutral' zones and their distrust
of promises made by tribal chiefs. A campaign shaped; more raids on
Moslem villages."

p. 358.

"It will be three hours to take," Dro told me. We'd close in on three
sides.
"The men on foot will not shoot, but use only the bayonets," Merrimanov
said, jabbing a rifle in dumbshow.
"That is for morale," Dro put in. "We must keep the Moslems in terror that
our cruelty beats theirs."
"Soldiers or civilians?" I asked.
"There is no difference," said Dro. "All are armed, in uniform or not."
"But the women and children?"
"Will fly with the others as best they may."

p. 360.

"The ridges circled a wide expanse, its floors still. Hundreds of feet down,
the fog held, solid as cotton flock. 'Djul lies under that,' said Dro,
pointing. 'Our men also attack from the other sides.'

Then, 'Whee-ee!' - his whistle lined up all at the rock edge. Bayonets
clicked upon carbines. Over plunged Archo, his black haunches rippling;
then followed the staff, the horde - nose to tail, bellies taking the
spur. Armenia in action seemed more like a pageant than war, even though
I heard our Utica brass roar.

As I watched from the height, it took ages for Djul to show clear. A tsing
of machine-gun fire took over from the thumping batteries; cattle lowed,
dogs barked, invisible, while I ate a hunk of cheese and drank from a snow
puddle. Mist at last folded upward as men shouted, at first heard faintly.
The came a shrill wailing.

Now among the cloud-streaks rose darker wisps - smoke. Red glimmered about
house walls of stone or wattle, into dry weeds on roofs. A mosque stood in
clump of trees, thick and green. Through crooked alleys on fire, horsemen
were galloping after figures both mounted and on foot.

'Tartarski!' shouted the gunner by me. Others pantomimed them in escape
over the rocks, while one twisted a bronze shell-nose, loaded, and yanked
breech-cord, firing again and again. Shots wasted, I thought, when by
afternoon I looked in vain for fallen branch or body. But these shots and
the white bursts of shrapnel in the gullies drowned the women's cries.

At length all shooting petered out. I got on my horse and rode down toward
Djul. It burned still but little flame showed now. The way was steep and
tough, through dense scrub. Finally on flatter ground I came out suddenly,
through alders, on smoldering houses. Across trampled wheat my brothers-in-
arms were leading off animals, several calves and a lamb."

>.....+ accept their crimes against the Armenias in 1915....

This must be the joke of the 1990.

Armenian genocide squads perpetrated acts of sabotage, destroyed
telephone cables, blew up bridges, blocked passes, set up ambushes,
attacked security stations and small Turkish outposts behind the Ottoman
Army lines on the one hand, and on the other ruthlessly attacked
Turkish and Kurdish villages, slaughtering the Turkish population
indiscriminately, women, children, old and young alike. Innocent
Muslims were one by one cruelly bayonetted to death, or massacred with
axes and swords, or else shut up in mosques or in schools and then burnt
alive as can be seen below.

Widespread Armenian massacres of innocent Muslims took place in regions
of Van, Kars, Sivas, Erzurum, Bitlis, Erzincan, Mus, Diyarbakir and
Maras. The Ottoman Army, while fighting to prevent the Russian invasion,
also had to deal with Armenian genocide squads who cowardly hit from
behind. The Armenian genocide of the Muslims spread to all parts of
Eastern Anatolia. Starting from late 1914, Armenians committed
widespread massacres and genocide in Eastern Anatolia, because the arena
was left to the Armenians. Almost every Turkish town and village from
Erzincan up to Azerbaidjan suffered large scale massacres and genocide
by Armenians and the Turkish genocide has been documented by Armenian,
Russian, American, British, Ottoman, German, Austrian and French
journalists and officers who observed the first genocide of this century
committed by the blood-thirsty Armenian genocide squads.

The Ottoman Army, liberating Trabzon, Bayburt, Erzincan, Erzurum,
Kars and other regions from the Russians, saw that the cities and their
villages had been destroyed and burnt, people slaughtered, massacred.
The massacres conducted by Armenians, which became a black stain for
humanity, shocked and disgusted even the Russian, British, German,
Austrian, French and American authorities.

Almost every Ottoman document is related to Armenian massacres and
cruelties. The inhuman treatment, cruelties, atrocities, genocide by
Armenian genocide squads perpetrated against innocent Moslem Turkish
and Kurdish people, are sufficiently reflected in historical documents.
Even today over seventy-five years later, the terrifying screams of
the victims of these cruelties can be heard.

"I have been closely following for two weeks the withdrawal of Russians and
Armenians from Turkish territories through Armenia. Although two months
have elapsed since the clearing of the territories of Armenian gangs, I

have been observing the evidence of the cruelties of the Armenians at
almost every step. All the villages from Trabzon to Erzincan and from

Erzincan to Erzurum are destroyed. Corpses of Turks brutally and cruelly
slain are everywhere. According to accounts by those who were able to
save their lives by escaping to mountains, the first horrible and fearful
events begun when the Russian forces evacuated the places which were then
taken over by Armenian gangs. The Russians usually treated the people
well, but the people feared the intervention of the Armenians. Once these
places had been taken over by the Armenians, however, the massacres begun.
They clearly announced their intention of clearing what they called the
Armenian and Kurdish land from the Turks and thus, solve the nationality
problem. Today I had the opportunity to meet Austrian and German soldiers
who had escaped from Russian prison camps and come from Kars and
Alexander Paul (Gumru-Leninakan)...

They had told me how Armenian gangs murdered 360 Turkish prisoners of war
in Kars and Alexanderpolis. Russian officers tried to save the Turks and
there were clashes between Russian officers and Armenian gangs. I am now
in Erzurum, and what I see is terrible. Almost the whole city is destroyed.
The smell of the corpses still fills the air. Although there are speculations
that Armenian gangs murdered Austrian and German prisoners as well, I
could not get the supporting evidence in this regard, but there is proof
of murdering of Turkish prisoners of war."

I thought you had been following this newsgroup for some time. The criminal
members of the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism and Revisionism Triangle have long
been proven liars and racists with a charter of extermination of the people
of Turkey. This racist and criminal view has been touted by the genocide
apologists of the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism and Revisionism Triangle as merely
a step on the road to said extermination. This is the sort of racist
argument that would justify those criminals' hostility to the people of
Turkey, or, for that matter, hostility to Azeris trying to live in peace.

In the past 15 years, Armenian terrorists have claimed scores of innocent
lives in order to compel the international community to accept their hoax
as fact. In 250 separate incidents perpetrated by Armenian terror groups in
more than 20 countries, 73 innocent people have been killed and 467 were
wounded.

Many Turkish diplomats and their immediate family members have lost their
lives in Armenian terrorist attacks. In the United States four Turkish
diplomats, two Consuls-General, a Vice Consul in Los Angeles and an
Honorary Consul General in Boston, have been assassinated by Armenian
terrorists. Armenian terrorist groups have not restricted their violence to
Turkish targets, but have victimized those who did not respond favorably to
their claims. Americans, Portuguese, Swiss, Canadians, French, Australians
and others have been victims of Armenian terrorism.

A recent publication of the U.S. Department of Justice reports 25 percent
of all terrorist acts in the United States between 1980-1986 were
perpetrated by Armenian terrorist organizations.

The origins of Armenian terrorism can be traced back to late 19th century.
Scholars say there is a high degree of similarity between the stated aims,
the choice of targets, the tactics utilized, and the rhetoric employed by
today's Armenian terrorist groups, and those of their 19th century and early
20th century counterparts (as usual, references available). Turkey, like its
predecessor, the Ottoman Empire, has been menaced by ambitious powers bent on
gaining control over the strategic avenues it straddles. As I displayed numerous
times, Armenians have been seen as "potential military and political allies"
by such powers.

Today, Armenian terrorist organizations have eagerly volunteered their services
to their natural allies in striking Turkish targets. Like their counterparts in
the late 19th and the early 20th centuries who had engaged in political
assassinations, bombings, genocide and extortion, today's Armenian terrorists
work to realize, through violence, the objective of their forebears - the
establishment of an independent Armenia in an area encompassing Eastern Anatolia
and the Caucasus. Experts on international terrorism say today's Armenian
terrorists, like their 19th century counterparts, projected much of their
modern history into their past and thus transformed it into mythology. The
focal point of this mythology has been fabricated "genocide" theme as I
discussed in detail earlier, which was used to explain their acts of violence.
This historical vengeance is also used by Armenian extremists, like [TA],
as a rallying point to get the sympathy of the public and to recruit
impressionable Armenian youths into terrorist ranks. Today, the Armenian
Revolutionary Army (also known as the Justice Commandos of the Armenian
Genocide - JCAG), a creation of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (the
Dashnaks), is continuing its killings and threats with [TA]'s support, in
the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Well-spoken.

It is on the record that the British said to local Armenians, 'You kill
the Muslims and we will supply you with arms and ammunition.'[1]
Armenian volunteers concentrated at the Turkish border in Caucasia,[2]
and then attacked Van,[3] Bitlis,[4] Nakhichevan,[4] Beyazit,[5] and
Kars and Erzurum.[6] The Commander fo the 15th Army Corps wrote that Armenian
units had attacked many Turkish villages with artillery and machine guns,
that the local people's goods and animals had been usurped, that young women
had been taken away, the women and children had been tortured to death in
the mountains, that these attacks on the properties, lives and honor of the
Muslims were still being perpetrated.[7]

For the sake of accuracy, it should be pointed out that his article gives a
clear indication that he may be affiliated with the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism
and Revisionism Triangle and with its blood-thirsty criminal members. From my
personal experience, I have found that some of the most fanatical supporters
of the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism Triangle are very dedicated idiots, racists
and the hate-the-Turk club members. BTW, ARF stands for Armenian Revolutionary
Federation which ordered the extermination of an entire Muslim population of
the Armenian Dictatorship and carried out the cold-blooded genocide of
millions of Muslims in the Ottoman Empire before, during and after World War I.

>As for ASALA and SDPA, I have

They both are Armenian terrorist and revisionist organizations whose
charters specifically call for the extermination of the Turkish and
Kurdish people from the face of the earth, spread anti-Turkish
propaganda and submerge the people of Turkey with low quality rhetoric,
lies, fabrications and forgeries. They massacre as many innocent
people as they could to provoke international rage at their actions so
that they would be noticed. In other words, those creatures slaughter
innocent Turkish men, women and babies for the sake of publicity.

The great massacre in Erzurum began on February 7... The enlisted men
of the artillery division caught and stripped 270 people. Then they
took these people into the bath to satisfy their lusts. 100 people
among this group were able to save their lives as the result of
my decisive attempts. The others, the Armenians claimed, were
released when they learnt that I understood what was going on.
Among those who organized this treacherous act was the envoy to the
Armenian officers, Karagodaviev. Today, some Turks were murdered
on the streets."

"As for the allegations of cruelty, investigations carried out on the
spot have revealed that the Armenian political committees did not
shrink from perpetrating the most unspeakable horrors and acts of
savagery. These crimes, committed by the Armenian soldiers and
volunteers in the Russian army, assumed frightening dimensions in the
eastern provinces after the collapse of the Russian front. The reports
of lieutenant-colonel Twerdo Khlebow, the commander of the Second
Artillery Regiment of the Caucasion Army in charge of the Erzurum
fortifications, of Abgral, deputy commander of Erzurum, of Adichelidze,
of Linsky, commander of Sarikamis, Riabov, artillery officer in
Erzurum, and the reports found in the Russian military journals, all
bear testimony to the way in which the Turks were massacred without
distinction as to men, women or children, and also to the horrendous
cruelty with which they were treated by the Armenians."

I believe that with the literature list I am submitting to you, you will
have a much better idea about the Armenian genocide of the Muslims before,
during and after WWI. The list of the references are the writings of
eminent historians who are authorities of Middle-Eastern history and taught
or are still teaching in the prestigious American or British Universities.
Also included are memoirs of a few eye-witnesses whose impartiality cannot
be questioned. I don't think that complete impartiality of these authors even
in some cases their pro-Armenian attitude and their expertise and authority
in Turco-Armenian conflict can be questioned.

SOME OF THE REFERENCES FROM EMINENT AUTHORS IN THE FIELD OF MIDDLE-EASTERN
HISTORY AND EYEWITNESSES OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE OF THE MUSLIMS

1. "The Armenian Revolutionary Movement" by Louise Nalbandian,
University of California Press, Berkeley, Los Angeles, 1975

The author is an American historian of Armenian origin. Although
it does not cover the WWI period, it covers the all basic conflict, all
the treasonable activities of open and secret organizations and armed
uprisings.

2. "Diplomacy of Imperialism 1890-1902" by William I. Lenger, Professor
of History, Harward University, Boston, Alfred A. Knopt, New York, 1951

Chapter V of this book "The Armenian Question and Near-Eastern
Triplice" (pages 145-166) gives an excellent account of the basis of the
Armenian and Armenian revolutionaries. It proves that the massacres in
that period are deliberately organized by Armenians themselves to attract
Western interest and publicity and eventually Western intervention.

3. "Turkey in Europe" by Sir Charles Elliot,
Edward & Arnold, London, 1900

An old book, but gives a good and impartial account of Armenian
problem in the Abdulhamid II era.

4. "The Chatnam House Version and Other Middle-Eastern Studies" by
Elie Kedouri, Praeger Publishers, New York, Washington, 1972

The author is the Professor of Politics of the London School of
Economics and has been Visiting Professor at Princeton and Harward
Universities. Gives a short but good account of Armenian problem of
WWI in the Section of Minorities (pages 280-316).

5. "The Rising Crescent" by Ernest Jackh,
Farrar & Reinhart, Inc., New York & Toronto, 1944

The author is a German Orientalist and escaped from Germany
during Hitler's rule and became a professor at Columbia University for
Middle-Eastern History. Gives a short but good account of Armenian
problem including 1915 deportations on pages 42-44.

6. "Spiritual and Political Evolutions in Islam" by Felix Valyi,
Mogan, Paul, Trench & Truebner & Co., London, 1925

Excellent account of Turkish-Armenian problem in all aspects.
Excellent account and evaluation of Western prejudices and misinformation
about Turks and Turkey and about Turkey's minority problems.

7. "The Struggle for Power in Moslem Asia" by E. Alexander Powell,
The Century Co., New York, London, 1924

Another excellent book for impartial evaluation of Armenian
problem. It is also extremely valuable for evaluation of Western
prejudices and misinformation. Also very valuable for evaluation of
selfish imperialistic politics of Russia and England and their ruthless
use of Turkish minorities as a tool to their imperialism. Author was a
Consular Officer of American Embassy with wide experience in Turkey.

8. "Struggle for Transcaucasia" by Feruz Kazemzadeh,
Yale University Press, New Haven, Conn., 1951

The author is a Professor of Middle-Eastern history at Yale
University. Excellent account of whole Armenian problem and
Turkish-Armenian conflict.

9. "History of the Ottoman Empire and Modern Turkey" (2 volumes) by
Stanford J. Shaw, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, New York,
Melbourne, 1977

The author is Professor of History at the University of
California, Los Angeles. Volume II gives an excellent and scholarly
account of the whole Turkish-Armenian conflict.

10."The Western Question in Greece and Turkey" by Arnold J. Toynbee,
Constable & Co., Ltd., London, Bombay & Sydney, 1922

Importance of this book will be mentioned upon request.

11."The Caliph's Last Heritage" by Sir Mark Sykes,
Macmillan & Co., London, 1915

Same as above.

12."Men Are Like That" by Leonard A. Hartill,
Bobbs Co., Indianapolis, 1928

Memoirs of an Armenian Army Officer translated to English and
published by a member of American "Near East Relief Organization."
Gives the whole account of the genocide of all Turkish and Moslem
people in Armenia organized and executed by Armenian Government and
Army. Also gives account of countless other massacres and atrocities
against the Turkish people in Armenia.

13."Adventures in the Near East" by A. Rawlinson,
Dodd, Meade & Co., 1925

Eye witness account of the same genocide by a British Army Officer.

14."World Alive, A Personal Story" by Robert Dunn,
Crown Publishers, Inc., New York, 1952

Another eye witness account of the same genocide by an American Officer.

15."From Sardarapat to Serves and Lousanne" by Avetis Aharonian,
The Armenian Review Magazine, Volume 15 (Fall 1962) through 17
(Spring 1964)

Memoirs of the chief Armenian delegate to the Paris Peace Conference
were published in the Armenian Review Magazine in 13 articles from
Volume 15 (Fall 1962) to Volume 17 (Spring 1964). These memoirs include
an interview between Aharonian and British Foreign Minister Lord
Curzon in which above-mentioned genocide was discussed. The official
report mentioned by Lord Curzon is the report of British High Commissioner
to Caucasia, Sir Oliver Wardrop.

16."Armenia on the Road to Independence" by Richard G. Hovanessian,
University of California Press, Berkeley, California, 1967

The author is an American historian of Armenian origin. Although
his sympathies are on the Armenian side which is certainly understandable
the book still contains a wealth of information despite his efforts to
emphasize pro-Armenian references. The book covers events until Armistice
and therefore does not include above-mentioned total extermination of the
Turks during 1919-20 period.

17."The Rebirth of Turkey" by Clair Price,
Thomas Seltzer, New York, 1923

Good account of Armenian problems of WWI and its aftermath by an
American journalist. Good account of armed Armenian uprising prior to
1915 deportations. It reveals that during that uprising the whole Turkish
population of Province of Van was massacred by Armenians.

18."Caucasian Battlefields" by W. B. Allen & Paul Muratoff,
Cambridge, 1953

Detailed account of treasonable activities of Armenian population
of Eastern Provinces of Turkey by cooperating with invading Russian
Armies in 1828-29, 1854, 1877-78, and 1914-17 Russo-Turkish Wars.
Detailed account of Armenian irregular and guerrilla forces (similar
to Viet Cong) in WWI.

19."Partition of Turkey" by Harry N. Howard,
H. Fertig, New York, 1966

The author is the Professor of History at the American University of
Beirut and considered as the dean of the Middle-Eastern historians.
Ample information about Admiral Bristol's reports to the U.S. Government
about the Armenian problem and Armenian and British atrocity and
massacre allegations.

20."The King-Crane Commission" by Harry N. Howard,
Beirut, 1963

Same as above.

21."United States Policy and Partition of Turkey" by Laurence Evans,
John Hopkins University Press, Baltimore, 1965

Same as above.

22."British Documents Related to Turkish War of Independence" by Gothard
Jaeschke

This book was originally written in German by this eminent German
orientalist and translated to Turkish and published by the Turkish
Historical Society under the title "Kurtulus Savasi ile ilgili Ingiliz
Belgeleri, Ankara, 1971." Chapter VII of the book (pages 172-194) is
devoted to "War Criminals" and describes all efforts of British
Occupation Authorities to investigate all of the alleged Armenian
massacres and atrocities and to arrest and punish criminals. Also
reveals that none of the alleged crimes was proven and the investigation
ended with a fiasco.

The undersigned 95 percent of the American academicians who specialize in
Turkish, Ottoman and Middle Eastern Studies summarize their views on the
issue clearly.

"From the fourteenth century until 1922, the area currently known as
Turkey, or more correctly, the Republic of Turkey, was part of the
territory encompassing the multi-national, multi-religious state known
as the Ottoman Empire. It is wrong to equate the Ottoman Empire with the
Republic of Turkey in the same way it is wrong to equate the Hapsburg
Empire with the Republic of Austria. The Ottoman Empire, which was
brought to an end in 1922, by the successful conclusion of the Turkish
Revolution which established the present day Republic of Turkey in 1923,
incorporated lands and people which today account for more than twenty-five
distinct countries in Southeastern Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East,
only one of which is the Republic of Turkey. The Republic of Turkey bears
no responsibility for any events which occurred in Ottoman times...

As for the charge of `genocide:` No signatory of this statement wishes
to minimize the scope of Armenian suffering. We are likewise cognizant
that it cannot be viewed as separate from the sufferings experienced by
the Muslim inhabitants of the region. The weight of evidence so far
uncovered points in the direction of serious inter-communal warfare
(perpetrated by Muslim and Christian irregular forces), complicated by
disease, famine, suffering and massacres in Anatolia and adjoining areas
during the First World War. Indeed, throughout the years in question,
the region was the scene of more or less continuous warfare, not unlike
the tragedy which has gone on in Lebanon for the past decade. The
resulting death toll among both Muslim and Christian communities of the
region was immense...[1]"

"In spite of all the good will that Mustafa Kemal showed, the French
occupation forces continued arming the Armenians to suppress the
Turkish people, and were giving them free rein to attack Muslim
villages and to kill the peasants. In Mustafa Kemal's words,

'The massacre against Muslims that was being perpetrated by the
French and the Armenians in Maras was enough to terrorize all
humanity.'

When similar events broke out in Urfa, Mustafa Kemal said:

'...the French who hide behind the mask of civilization and the
Armenians who serve them as examples have started a cruel
massacre among the Muslim people in and around Urfa.'

On 3 March, Mustafa Kemal expressed his concerns in these words:

'In Cilicia, Armenians are being armed by the French and are being
set loose upon the Muslim people. They have locked many Muslims in
churches, the fate of these Muslims is not known, and many women
have been raped.'"

"Acting Commander of Erzurum and Deveboynu regions and Commander of the
Second Erzurum Artillery Regiment Prisoner of War, Lieutenant Colonel
Twerdokhlebof:

On February 12, some Armenians have shot more than ten innocent
Moslems. The Russian soldiers who attempted to save these people were
threatened with death. Meanwhile I imprisoned an Armenian for
murdering an innocent Turk.

When an Armenian officer told an Armenian murderer that he would
be hanged for his crime, the killer shouted furiously: 'How dare
you hang an Armenian for killing a Turk?' In Erzurum, the
Armenians burned down the Turkish market. On February 17, I heard
that the entire population of Tepekoy village, situated within
the artillery area, had been totally annihilated. On the same
day when Antranik entered Erzurum, I reported the massacre to
him, and asked him to track down the perpetrators of this horrible
act. However no result was achieved."

"The revolutionary committees in Van were more powerful than those
in other parts of the country. Large quantities of arms and ammunition
were imported through Iran and the Caucusus, and a well-disciplined
organization set up among the Armenians. In Van we find the Hunchaks,
the Armenagans, and the Dashnaks.

Preparations for the rebellion had been going on for almost a year.
Stores of arms and ammunition had been built up by means of an 'arms tax'
levied on the Armenian population, and the organization of the mutiny had
been taken over by leaders from Russia and Iran."

In the Name of Allah Most Beneficient Most Merciful

1992 to the average Briton means Europe; to the average Muslim it
means something else; 1992 is the 500th anniversary of the fall of
Spain. When, on that fateful January 2, Abu Abdullah, or Boabdil as the
Spaniards call him, looked down from the hill known as The Moor~s Last
Sigh (El Ultimo Suspiro del Moro) on the glittering towers and palaces
of Alhambra, it was, historians concur, one of the most traumatic
moments in the history of Islam.
Perhaps, nothing could be more eloquent of the state of the Muslim
world, or the intellectual calibre of its rulers, that, despite its
overwhelming importance, not a single Muslim government has a programme
for commemorating the fall of Islamic Spain; neither an exhibition nor
an international conference - not even a book. This alone would speak
volumes. One does not, of course, want to celebrate a defeat, but people
certainly need to understand how and why it took place.
The Catholic Church, at any rate, cannot be accused of such
oversight. For years, there has been a campaign afoot to have queen
Isabella canonized. The immenence of the 500th anniversary of the
discovery of America - it was she who financed Columbus~s expedition -
provides an ideal occasion to bring forward the cause of her
canonization, to promote which the Vatican has been bombarded with
documents (30,000 so far) extolling her merits. Nor does the fact that
she never performed any miracles, posthumous or otherwise, constitute an
impediment, at least in the opinion of Cardinal Aponte. The
cardinal-archbishop of Puerto Rico says: ~What greater miracle can you
have than the conversion of America to the faith?~..............

.............Prior to the surrender of Granada, queen Isabella of
Castille and her consort, King Ferdinand of Aragon (whose marriage
produced modern Spain), had signed a treaty with the Muslims promising
them liberty of life and property, freedom to practise their religion,
to speak their own language, to wear Islamic dress and retain their own
customs. On condition these terms would be observed the Granadine
government agreed to surrender the keys to the Alhambra on January 2,
1492.
Before 10 years had passed every clause in the treaty was violated,
each term of surrender was broken. In 1499, cardinal Ximenes of the
Spanish Inquisition was sent to Granada with a brief to convert the
Moors to Christianity using every means at his disposal. Muslim
cemeteries were not just closed but demolished; Muslims were obliged to
take Christian names, to go through the rite of baptism (in the
Russel-Coates Museum at Bournemouth in England there is a painting
depicting this scene). In one day alone, 3,000 people were forcibly
baptised by Cardinal Ximenes, who in the words of Sir William Stirling
Maxwell, ~sprinkled them with the hyssop of collective regeneration.~
To keep faith with infidels was, to Isabella~s mind, to insult God,
since Jesus came to save mankind. Anyone who protested at the violation
of the term of the surrender was arrested. The sight of one woman being
dragged off to the prison so inflamed the populace that the city flared
into revolt; barricades were set up, and the Christian garrison was
surrounded, the first of the many revolts the Muslims staged, until they
were finally expelled, all three million of them. Ximenes next induced
Isabella to promulgate a decree giving the Muslims the choice between
conversion and exile. Many fled , thereby weakening the resistence; most
opted for taqiyyah.
By this decree, Islam ceased officially to exist in a country where
Allah subhanahu wa ta~ala had been uninterruptedly worshipped for 800
years. This meant that all mosques would now be closed; practising Islam
became a crime. Even the priceless cultural heritage of Muslim Spain was
consigned to the flames. Madrassahs as well as mosques were closed, so
the library of the University of Granada - its mosques still exists -
was taken out and burned in Bibarrambla Square (Bibarrambla is Bab
ar-Ramlah, Gate of the Sand).
These measures proved the last straw. Not only Granada but the whole
of the great mountain range of the Alpujarras rose in revolt. Alonzo de
Aquilar was sent to the Alpujarras in 1501 to put down the uprising; he
was killed by the commander of the Muslim forces. When the count of
Tendilla, governor of Granada, stormed the town of Guejar, the court of
Serin blew up the mosque (in which all the women and children had taken
refuge) with gunpowder.
At the start, in 1492, Ferdinand and Isabella would not even spend
the night in Granada; they were too frightened. Today, from the
perspective of 1990, their conquest looks permanent; in 1492, no one
knew whether it would last or not.
Meanwhile, it does not look as if Isabella will make it to the
congregation of saints. The Jews are opposing her canonization on the
grounds that it was she who had them expelled in 1492. But no Muslim
country has protested to the Vatican over the proposed canonization
although all of them maintain diplomatic representation at the Holy See.
The present Spanish king, Don Juan Carlos, has already apologized to the
Jews for what his predecessor did to them; he is reported to be keen to
make 1992 a symbol of reconciliation; the Muslims, as usual, are
forgotten.
