Linguistic purity can be difficult concept. If you go back far enough,
often a word turns out to be from another language. Many Sanskrit
word are of Dravidian origin, just as many Tamil word are of Sanskrit
origin. In the list given by Thileeban, many word have a Sanskrit
counterpart:
kapilar
amaraavathi
ambikai
arunthathi
aananthi
uththarai
uththami
kamalam
kaarththika
sinthaamaNi
sinthu
nilaa
naLini
pairavi
maathavi
meera
mEkalai
maathEvi
vasanthy
vasuki
maNivaNNan
muraLi
In many cases the correspondence may be harder to see because
it may be through Prakrit. For example, KrishNa is KaNha
in Prakrit (hence Kaanha or Kanhaiya in Hindi) and Kannan in
Tamil.
