***After a long break, Gemini Ganesan is back!.. He stars in Sundhar C.'s
"Mettukkudi" along with Karthik!.. Karthik appears to be very lucky these
days!.. Soon after completing "Yaathra Mozhi" with Mohanlaal in
Malayaalam, "Nadigar Thilakam" Sivaji Ganeshan is slated to star with
Karthik in a new film (untitled) to be produced by Supreme Films
("Aanazhagan" producers)..
***Election: Before and After.. Manorama had done some adiradi prachaaram
against Rajinikaanth during the election.. As a result, she is being
dropped from many films including Sathyaraj's "Vallal".. Many of the
producers are not even asking their advance payments back from her!..
"Aachi-yin aatchi ippadi aagi vittadhe".. KSR Ramaraajan-ukku "J" poda
mattaar!.. K.S.Ravikumar was supposed to direct Ramaraajan's "Kaallaiyan"
but soon after the election.. KSR jagaah vaangu-fied from the project!..

just about every role offerred to Sukanya is one where she plays a

Paarthiban has made a new Northie discovery in Simran.. who stars in his
"Soththukatchi".. besides Sangita (we hope!).. Now several tamil movie
directors and producers are eagerly signing Simran for their films!..
***Meendum Mohan.. Mohan is trying extremely hard to make a comeback..
Unfortunately, "Mahesan" which was intended to bring him back, might never
release!.. 'Action King' udhavi seiya vandhirukkiraar!.. Arjun is writing
a story and screeplay for a movie which stars Mohan!.. 'Stills' Ravi is
also deeply involved in the effort to bring Mohan back into the
industry!.. Raaju Sundharam (Danced in "Rukkumani Rukkumani" in Roja)..
son of Dance Master Sundharam and brother of Prabhudeva has been signed to
act in a film.. and music to be composed by Ilaiyaraaja's youngest son
Yuvan Shankar..
***Nagma-vin kenjal.. Poor Nagma.. even though her market is 'okay' by
today's standards.. it is indeed her sister Raththikaa's market that she
is trying to nilai niruththu-fy!.. Raththikaa, who was promised several
roles by big producers K.T.Kunjumon and Amitabh Bachchan.. is in a
desperate situation today!.. She was dropped from the "Ullaasam" cast..
udane, sister Nagma pora vara idaththil ellam Raththikka-vukku chance
kettu kenju-giraaraam!.. Nagma-vukku paravaa-illai!.. She stars in Chitra
Lakshmanan's "Periya Thambi," with Prabhu, "Aravindhan" with Saratkumar
and Paarthiban, "Vettiya Madichchu kattu" with Bhaagyaraaj.. one film
under Bharathiraaja's direction and one film with Kamalahaasan(yet to be
confirmed)!..
***Sangita vesi vedaththil?.. Sangita, our kavarchi kattaadha ore nadigai
in tamil has taken up a unique challenge!.. She is starring in
"Senthooram" as a prostitute's daughter fighting to free herself from
labels and expectations of society!.. Arjun, after his miserable bout with
the box office with "Aayudha Poojai" and "Shengotai" has decided to take
some time to produce his own films!.. After completing "Thaayin Manikodi,"
Arjun plans to produce and direct films on a frequent basis!..
***Karate Husseini dhool killapu-giraar!.. Some say that he is becoming
our dare-devil hero of the 90's.. with dhool parakkum stunts and great
intensity, Husseini seems to show promise!.. His first film "My India" and
own production "Sirpi" will have to provide evidence for us to concur!..
Appuram chinna meen-ai pottu, periya meen-ai pidiththu irukkiraar!..
Meaning.. Ashok Amitharaaj has signed Husseini to star in an English
film!.. All the other details, supporting actors, heroine etc. is yet to
be decided!.. Periya aall aagi kondirukkiraar!..
***Arunkumar-ukku nadikka "Priyam".. Arunkumar currently stars in "Priyam"
with new face "Manthra" and in "Cheran".. Details are still sketchy!.. He
doesn't want to take more then a couple of films at a time!.. Idhu avar
policy!.. Arvind Swamy nowadays seems to be very active during
shootings!.. He seems to have two scripts ready and constantly reads books
on direction, camera and editing!.. Pada poojai news nichchayam seekkiram
vara pogiradhu!.. On a similar note, market konjam 'dull'-aana samayam,
Vivek sat down to write a couple of humorous scripts for film!.. Nalla
yogam, K.S.Ravikumar and R.V.Udhayakumar have each grabbed one of his
scripts!..
***Amitabh Bachchan's first production "Ullaasam" is on everyboday's lips
today!.. Maheshwari("Karuththamma"), Ajeethkumar ("Aasai," "Amaraavathy"),
Vikram ("Meera," "Thandhu Vitten Ennai") star!.. Another addition to this
cast is Abdhulla.. Kushboo's brother.. adhaavadhu Sundhar-in maithunar!..
Innum padaththula irukkaara?.. we don't know!.. Meet Sri Durga.. she is a
Bombay model chosen by K.S.Ravikumar to play Kamal's second heroine in
"Avvai Shanmugi".. The only thing that needs some fixing is Sri Durga's
name!.. K.S.R is breaking his head trying to find a better one!..
