MADRAS- The Madras High Court today dismissed a writ petition filed by
DMK President and former Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi, challenging the
appointment of an inquiry commission to go into corruption charges
against him.

PANEL ADVISES PALANI IDOL'S REPLACEMENT
MADRAS- An expert committee set up by the Tamil Nadu Govt has found that
the idol of Lord Subramanya at Palani is badly damaged and has recommended
that it be replaced by a new stone idol sculpted according to norms laid
down in the Shastras. The present idol should be encased in gold armour
and placed in the rear of the sanctum sanctorum, the committee has said
in its report submitted to the Tamil Nadu Govt recently.
TN HUNT FOR TWO LANKAN ULTRAS
MADRAS- Police have launched a massive hunt to nab two Sri Lankan Tamil
militants who shot dead a local youth and injured four in Adampakkam in
Madras on Tuesday night and escaped in a motorcycle.

And the end of the night
When we were blissfully alone
together,
in the late afternoon
when the arc of the moon
was pale,
in the twilight
when the flood of darkness
ebbed out,
that instant
when I struggled
to part from your
beautiful bright arms,
what was it
that made my eyes moist
if not love?
Precisely then
when that dream faded
the words you murmured
how charming
were they?
If this was not poetry
what else was it?
