Japan gave $370,000. India immediately despatch two naval ships loaded
with food items, tents, blankets, medicine and meals..Even poor

However, the USA and European countries play politics, and refuse to
send aid unless Myanmar agree to their terms. They together with the
UN, demanded visa for a "relief assessment team" to enter Myanmar. It
will only give "aid" with strings attached. Bush's wife use this
opportunity to condemn the junta in Myanmar.
Australia, the good friend of the USA, got annoyed and yesterday urged
the "international community" to focus on providing aid to the cyclone
victims instead of playing politics.
Australia in this instance has acted as an Asian country. Good.

released their embezzled money to help their own people that is the worse of
all not USA nor European countries. If this were to happen in Sinkapor, u
think lau li will release his famili billions to help the people, or will
lau li be releasing Sinkapor's reserves or part of the reserves? Most
probably lau li will do the same like the Junta, as for Sinkapor's reserves
he will give excuses and say it is all being locked up in long term
investments in banks abroad for 30 years or more.

I was in Rangoon for the last four days and I flew in and out by

How is the condition in Yangon?

The condition in Yangon is almost back to normal. In the
outskirt area, south of Yangon, the farms are not in good
conditions...roof blown away, tree uprooted, many roads
are still not passable.
Cyclone hit the delta low lying area at the mouth of
Irrawaddy River, just south west of Rangoon. The rest
of Myanmar north of Yangon, about 90% of the country
was NOT affected.
Area around Bogale, in the delta was worse hit. Houses
were flatten, large animals like water buffalo were drown...
their carcases floating in the flood.
Coastal villages from Ma Yan to Taw Chaik, almost all
the houses were completely wiped out by the 190 km
wind and the 4 metre tidal wave that followed, ..carried
away or drown more than half the people living in
coastal villages.
The survivers had nothing left, except clothing on them, ..
not even cooking pots to prepare their meals.
Aid centres have to cook the meals in mass kitchens and
deliver the meals to them.
Local red cross were doing a great job, treating the injured
and issuing tents, water, blankets to the survivors...and
providing shelters to the babies and old people.
Aids in packages with marking from India and China were
seen at the local Red Cross centres.
On the day I left, plane loads of aids from the US were
just arriving at the airport.

It show that most coastal villages (SW of Rangoon) were
badly damaged,..
all victims could be reached by BOATS....no helicopter
was necessary. Just like it was in New Orleans after
Katrina.
US want to send in helicopters and pilots... to do what!!...
they cannot land in the flooded area ...the water is still
waist high. ...and helipcopter cannot land among the wrecked
houses...or fallen trees.
Myanmar do not need helicopter nor the pilots.

1. There are lots of places were helicopters would be useful. Let the experts
decide.
2. Helicopters do not have to land to deliver supplies or rescue those in
danger. That's why they are preferable to planes in these sorts of rescue
missions.
