MASS GRAVE FOUND IN HARGEISA,SOMALILAND REPUBLIC.

It was BIG shock,indeed.to hear such a news from our motherland.and
therefore this news have been cuoted from the Australian national
newspaper, THE AGE.

Djibouti- Torrentail rains in north western Somalia have uncovered a mass
grave with the bodies of an estimated 250 people beleived killed in 1988
execution by forces loyal to the military leader dictator Siad
Barre.photos of skulls and bones found at the burial site were yesterday
published in Jamhuuriya,a private somali language dailly published in
Hargeisa,capital of the self proclaimed Somaliland republic.
The newspaper said the 250 bodies were those of former millitary
officials and civilians from the Issak clan were who shot by soldiers
loyal to Siad's regime. it said the bodies were among those of an
estimated 2000 people reportly killed in summary executions on june
16,1988.one of the soldiers selected for execution,Ahmed Farah
Ibrahim,said his life had been spared because his brother-in-law was an
officer in siad barre's army and a member of his Marehan sub-clan.
The 2000 were separated into gruops of 25 which were tied together,Mr
Ibrahim said, "they were shot before my eyes".
It was not clear why Mr Ibrahim was speaking about the killings nine
years after they allegedly took place.
Siad Barre seized power in a 1969 coup,nine years after somali
independance.various clan-based factions began to dispute his rule in the
mid-1980s.forces loyal to Siad Barre were eventually defeated, and he was
forced to flee neighbouring Kenya in 1991.
That led to the total collapse of somalia's central and administration
and inter-clan fighting that has devastated much of the country and left
today most of the somalis homeless.

mourning to remember the death of these citizens.and therefore, tommorow
their will be a speech for the celebration of somaliland day 26 June, in
here Melbourne Australia to recollect for those unforgettable citizens.
however, we are praying to our Lord forgiveness for those dear ones.
however, I recommend all the somaliland citizens and all wel-wishers
living all around the world to pay atleast one day of mourning.
