Subject: Australia: Reporter Ben Fordham and producer Andrew Byrne charged over story
CHANNEL 9, a high-profile reporter and a producer are facing legal
action over a controversial hidden-camera report that saw a journalist
pose as an alleged hitman's accomplice.
The network says it will vigorously defend the charges, claiming the
story, which aired on A Current Affair (ACA) in May last year, headed
off a murder.

Police charged Nine, as well as ACA journalist Ben Fordham and producer
Andrew Byrne, after seeking advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The two men are accused of concealing a serious crime, but also face
action for alleged breaches of the Listening Devices Act, along with the
network.
