Someone sent this to me and I was wondering whether we could
pinch the idea and do a quilters one.
next year against the Scottish landscape
www.wearingwool.com./cpcale.html.

A group of mature women in Tasmania did one just to raise enough
money to get new curtains for the clubhouse and ended up making a
fortune. They were hoping to raise about $500 and made over
$75,000

There is money in these things believe me.

Well.....Scotland does offer a lot of unique scenery with the castles,
etc. We could be peeking out from behind standing stones, etc. The
possibilities are endless. It could be not necessarily 'bawdy', but
tasteful, and fun!

Would we target a mutual 'cause' like the breast cancer research of the
'wearing wool' ladies, or would we divide up the money? Just curious.

I have 3 or 4 friends in Scotland who are semi-pro photographers. Any
one of them would probably do it for nothing! <G> These are 'published'
photographers, and not amateurs.

We can make up our own rules as we go along.

They're old enough. On second thought, one is probably too 'prissy'.
Another has no sense of humour. That still leaves one or two other
possibilities.

I'm not sure, but I've had a lot of fun dreaming up some very creative
compositions. I'm not the 'naturist' type to sit around quilting all
day in the nude, but for a worthy cause (such as padding our bank
accounts) I might give some thought to photography sessions.

Well, we'll plan our get together for the warmest time of the year, and
there's always such things as 'air-brushing' . Besides, the pictures
don't all have to be taken outdoors.

As I said... I'm in on the project - but not for sewing. I can make the
spaghetti while you all stitch away.
Or... I could make templates with kiddies' hand-prints (so very easy) - and
it could be a sort of "kiddies-go-hand-in-hand all over the world", thing.
And we could work it into some deserving project, perhaps calling it a
'Hand-some World Quilt'.

Quite frankly, I am shocked that such a thread could develop on s.c.s.
of all places! Children read this newsgroup.....

More seriously, our resident expert in calendar control and
containment is missing in action (i.e. visiting relatives in
Scotland). She could tell you about the problems there have been with
the "Men of s.c.s." calendar fiasco. Are you aware of the cost of
liquid nitrogen?

Depends on the woman, IMHO, and the man. Some of those pictures on the
Maine calendar would do terrible things to the average teuchter - not
because the women are nekked, but the way they are holding those poor
sheep....

She thought of it as a "Wouldn't it be funny?..." in an email and I

history books alternated writing the posts. I would post three
calendar months worth, and she'd post the next three months. It was
fun and we sure had a few of the guys going there for a while! We
even got jpegs and gif files emailed to us for consideration. They
were all in good taste and if anyone is still worried about where
those photos went, I can assure them that they have never been posted
on the web without permission, except for that movie of Huey Llewelyn
sent. He claimed that it was him dancing on stage in front of the
Welsh flag. Huey was a lurker and since he never posted showed far
too much talent for our calendar, I sent it around to few female
sailors. As usual, I saved the clip some place at the time and cannot
find it now.

I remember Jack C. asking me if we were really serious about the scs
calendar. I emailed him back, "I'll never teh-ell!" (Funny, that
line with the same inflection was also used for a movie a couple of
years later...) Anyway, it was suggested that a female version of
the scs calendar should be made to be fair but none of the guys were
up to producing it at the time since we girls still had plenty
material left to use against them, several redheaded females were
posting at the time, and one of our girls claimed to be armed.

We considered continuing the men of scs calendar since we hadn't even
reached the Industrial Revolution in Scottish history yet but Greggi
and I were burnt out after the first year. Plus, we didn't want to
run such a good thing to ground.
