In a unique collaboration between Scottish artists and one of
Scotland’s leading restaurants, Nairns restaurant is hosting an evening
auction of contemporary Scottish art in aid of refugees of the Kosovan
war. This will take place on the evening of Wednesday 21st July 1999.

The auction features works from some of the greatest living Scottish
artists; Peter Howson, John Bellany, Ian Hughes, and Ken Curry. It
will also feature young artists who have already started writing the
next chapter of Scottish art history; Guyan Porter, Clara Ursitti, and
Damien Henry. Several major Scottish artists have still to be
announced.

Among the many extraordinary works included in this auction is a
religious seascape by Ian Hughes and a unique sketch by Peter Howson.
Peter Gabriel has contributed a limited edition album, and signed a
print of Ian Hughes’ illustration of his track ‘Steam’.

This is the first time that many of these works have been made
available to view by the general public, or to collectors.

Due to space restrictions, Nairns can only admit 70 guests to bid for
the artists works on this unique evening. Admission will be strictly
by purchase of catalogue only. Catalogue sales are limited to one per
person and can only be sold directly through the restaurant.

Each catalogue costs £50.00 and each will be signed by all of the
participating artists.
