Sounds bad? Yes, but who are the bad guys? Which side is right? Hard
to tell really, Both sides are terrorists in their own unique way. You
live by the gun - you die by the gun. One day its Yank servicemen and
the next an Afghan wedding party.

No, it sounds just great! The CIA has more than enough
resources to pinpoint your hovel and target a Predator on
you just for laughs!
(More likely, though, they'll just give your info to some guys
who are going on a surfing or sailing holiday in your neck of
the world, and you'll be having an 'accidental' housefire in the
near future...)

Tam, you're being a real erse.
Regardless of any of the arguments here, the entrenched views, the
unwillingness to see other people's point, this is going too far.

And this is New - how?

Since the Voice Of Reason has entered this thread,
a Reasonable Reply is in order.
You will not find a greater critic of the jingoistic sabre-rattlers
of the Cheney Regency than myself. That much is known to
all who've read anything I've written on their obvious status as
International War-Criminals and Domestic Enemies of the US
Constitution. However, to do as Heid has done, and impute
to hapless squaddies the Motives or Desires of the scum who
send them off to die in a War Of Choice based on packs of Lies,
and to fail to recognise the sick, horrific Truth wriggling like a
worm at the very core of the events at Ft. Hood - (what must have
been going through this man's mind, as he listened day-by-day
to the hundreds of PTSD victims relating their stories of fear and
death, butchery, slaughter, and yes, no doubt the occasional
War Crime?) - to be so callous and so bloody *stupid*...
Well, it's Heid after all, isn't it?

I agree it is in bad taste.

In Indonesia, Muslims who beheaded Christian school girls
were set free under Islamic holy killing law.

“Major Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, a US-born Muslim, opened fire on
soldiers at Fort Hood on Thursday.”
You're loving it - admit it?
Hardy
Hmmm..when will humans realise that there is little or no right or
wrong when it comes to these things.
Just depends on the country you live in at the time. It's a bad thing
when a soldier turns on his own mates. What drives a Shrink to do such
things? The US is a sick country for sure. All killing is wrong,
doesn't matter what uniform you are wearing or whether you are wearing
a uniform at all. Sad that nobody is even willing to debate the point.

Who's side? I don't have any sides. Beware the terrorist UAV coming to
a country near you soon...Replacement for pilots you see.
Israel has them and the US. Just a matter of time before the other
side gets them too. I am stuck in the middle between two terrorist
groups - the Americans and Millitant Islam. Before are equally bad -
that's a no brainer. It is always the innocents in the middle that
gets caught. This time it wasn't - at least soldiers know what they
join up for. To kill or be killed. I don't give a shit about Islam or
about American "values". Both are phoney. There are a few good amongst
both groups however.

I sit and weep for the good old days of the Cold War.
Well I used to read his posts because even he would occasionally post
something worthwhile, but I'm afraid it will be "Delete" before
reading from now on.
I agree; this was in particular bad taste, even for our Hardy,
particularly where where I have family on base at Fort Hood, including
a niece whose husband is a US Army chaplain in Afghanistan--the danger
to her was minimal (the place covers several hundred square miles),
but one never knows in these situations; on a related (and more
happier) note, I would like to report that this young lady has added
to my extended family by recently bringing into the world a fine braw
lad (8 lbs, 6 oz) named Gavin Alexander Stewart, who has distinguished
himself by exhibiting a prodigious appetite and showing himself the
possessor of a fine set of lungs--no news yet as to whether he is a
red head as he is still bald as an onion--indeed, he almost was named
Yul Brynner Stewart, but that, like Hardy's post, would have been in
excessive bad taste...

No, it's pretty much the Standard for his posts...
