Today, Celtic languages are limited to a few areas in Great Britain,
the Isle of Man, Ireland, Cape Breton Island, Patagonia, and on the
peninsula of Brittany in France. The spread to Cape Breton and
Patagonia occurred in modern times. In all areas the Celtic languages
are now only spoken by minorities.
A Gaelic speaking community in the American Carolinas died out in the
early 20th century, as did a small community in California. Some Welsh
was spoken in Pennsylvania until the 20th century, leaving behind
names like Bryn Mawr and Merion. However, to a limited degree this has
been balanced by people of Celtic origin in North America studying the
various Celtic languages with Seattle, Washington in particular being
a centre for the revival of Scottish Gaelic, while in Cape Breton, the
provincial government has taken steps to ensure that Gaelic survives,
supported by a Gaelic College and an upsurge in interest in Gaelic
culture, while in Argentina, the University of Buenos Aires has a
Scottish department which offers Scottish Gaelic classes for learners.

Lots of work! My mind boggles at the research you must have done!

well, i speak these languages fluently, although irish and sc gaelic
are now a bit rusty.
so it's from use rather than research. im catching a bit of flak for a
perceived error.
i do admit to a few errors in the book. there was some proofreading
done, and some arguments over which dialect to use or spelling.
atlantic fringe modern day celts like to argue over everything and
it's a it individualistic. now mistakes i do agree are to be taken
very seriously. but at the end of the day, when you do sth, you do
things wrong.
perfection never happened and never will.
i make no more money from this book. im not "advertising" it.
im merely wanting Y Lolfa to be able to make more and more money from
it for the effort they put into it.
i think it turned out reasonably well. i would have been more strict
about the proofreading aspect. i was in brazil at the time of
publication. it would have been better for me to be there at that
point. now money limits us, so sometimes we take a hit on the final
product.
my own way is to spend lots of time and money on it, but this isnt
profitable.
sort of a vicious circle.

Perhaps you should now turn your attention to written English.
You know - end of sentence, full stop, new sentence capital letter -
kindergarten stuff.
You might find more people would take you seriously then instead of
killfiling you.

I don't know. But if he's posted before I didn't see it as I would already
have killfiled him.
It's not just stupid and ignorant - it's bloody insulting to English
speakers.
