My question is, what is the name of this type of Soviet art?
Thanks for any help.
If you watch Burger King commercials, you see the same sort of Aryan
idealism, it's just all the people are blacks.
It's not just Burger King though. Look at ads for just about any product or
service. They will always have "happy" pictures that show some combination
of smiling blacks, white, asians, men, women, ...and sometimes even seniors
although younger people are generally preferred...unless the product is
something like adult diapers, etc.
The pharmas are masters of the perfect demographic combo....and of course
also masters of manipulated data.
Crestor commercials are now my favorite for bullshit content. Used to be
Claritin but Crestor has clearly fittted more crap into their 30 second
spots.

It's often lumped under "Socialist Realism"; I don't know whether there is a
specific sub-genre.

No, Social Realism is a quite different category of art; for those
interested in the differences between Socialist, Social, and Heroic Realism,
a good place to start is (as ever) http://wikipedia.org
