Isn't THAT the truth!!! Furthermore, they--the women--better have dunned an Islamic hejaab before they gasp for the last breath of air in the parched deserts of Iran's scorched plains...for otherwise, only the hotter fires of hell will be awaiting their already roasted bodies. __Zee__

As an American I can only good riddance to all Iranians who crowd the street and chant "DEATH TO AMERCA" and therefore show that they would like me and my family and friends to DIE. Because of this I look upon this news as good news and will celebrate the Iranians deaths. To all other people and especially fellow American who might look upon my words as distastful I say look at your children or anyone you love and imagine them suffering the worst pain you can imagine. THAT IS WHAT IRANIANS WANT FOR YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES. Take them at their words. This is what they chant on TV knowing full well that your will see it. It is MEANT for you to see. The USA is good and Iran is evil. Evil should DIE.

As a Persian living in America, I can only say you're an idiot to think this way.
First off, they had a reason to chant "Death to America". The US not only meddled in Iranian affairs, but gave refuge to the dictator shah after he was overthrown.
Second off, that was over 20 years ago, Iranian sentiment towards the Americans have changed greatly.
Third off, maybe you should get your ass out of your recliner and go do some reading, it'll do you good.

So let me get this straight, if you see a group of wackos banding together saying "Death to America" on Iranian news, you automatically think that the majority of Iranian people feel the same way? God forbid you ever watch Iraqi Government run television.

Oh I see, so you're dredging up things that happened thousands of years ago and relating that to the hardships going on now in Iran. Makes sense.

UN Says Iran Faces Critical Situation From Drought
Thursday, August 03, 2000
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's worst drought in 30 years has inflicted severe damage on the country's agriculture and livestock and threatens to displace millions of people, the United Nations said Thursday.
According to a report published by a U.N. fact-finding mission, two years of consecutive drought have affected 18 of Iran's 28 provinces and more than half of the country's 60 million people.
``The enormous scope of the disaster is overwhelming the Iranian government's resources, already stretched to the limit,'' it said.
``The overall drought situation is likely to worsen in the months to come, as summer temperatures continue to rise and rain is not expected until November.''
The disaster has placed an extreme strain on water resources, livestock and agriculture, leading to greater hardship and human suffering, the report added.
The mission, representing several U.N. agencies, recently visited drought-hit regions, mainly in southern and eastern Iran, to assess the situation and identify emergency needs.
``We are trying to develop a framework with the government to deal with the chronic situation on a medium and long-term basis,'' said Gamal Ahmed, representative in Iran of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
``The findings show acute problems in the supply of drinking water and substantial damage to agriculture and livestock,'' he told Reuters.
He said a full report would be submitted to the donor community, listing steps to be taken to mitigate the effects of future droughts and supplement government efforts.
Kaiumars Khosh-Chashm, representing the World Health Organization (WHO) and a member of the U.N. team, said, ``The situation is changing fast toward critical, even if it rains in November. The government has done its best from its own resources, or we would have had a disaster on our hands.''
The losses from the drought, estimated by officials as several billion dollars, far outweigh emergency funds available to help the victims. Tehran has appealed for international aid.
DROUGHTS HIT CROPS, LIVESTOCK
The U.N. report said the drought had dried up lakes and other reservoirs, disrupting water flow in 70 percent of rural areas.
It also issued warnings of contamination and health hazards as the populations in drought-hit regions grow more dependent on mobile and stationary water tankers.
On the agriculture front, the drought has destroyed 2.8 million tons of wheat crops and 280,000 tons of barley, in addition to the loss of stubble used for animal feed.
Iran has been forced to import an additional 300,000 tons of barley this year because of the drought.
An estimated 800,000 animals have died of malnutrition and disease and more face starvation or death from lack of water.
``The drought has also severely impacted the number and productivity of commonly held livestock. Breeding losses will be felt for years to come,'' the report said.
It said water shortages could provoke over 60 percent of the population in rural areas to migrate to overpopulated cities, which themselves are short of water.
The drought, which embraces the entire region, could also trigger new flocks of refugees into Iran from neighboring Afghanistan, the report said.
Bin Laden Eludes U.S. 2 Years After Embassy Bombings
Wednesday, August 02, 2000
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two years after U.S. embassies were blown up in East Africa, the United States still is frustrated in its efforts to pry Osama bin Laden, the alleged mastermind, out of his refuge in Afghanistan.
The United States has accused the Saudi exile of plotting bombings that turned U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania into rubble on Aug. 7, 1998, killing more than 220 people.

You forgot number 4. I should do some reading? Tell me what date the Iranians celebrate the Shah's downfall and I will read and I will and watch on TV Iran's SUPREME leader and hundreds of thousands of Iranians chant in the streets of Tehran "DEATH TO AMERICA" and burn the American flag. You are just an idiot. America has shouted DEATH TO IRAN many times without actually saying those words! For example, the American sponsored coup in Iran in 1953 was a very loud DEATH TO IRAN which echoed until 1978. Also, American supplies of chemical weapons to Iraq was another very loud DEATH TO IRAN, and American shooting down of an Iranian airliner (which most Iranians believe was deliberate) was another DEATH TO IRAN. Malicious ongoing propaganda war on Iran is another loud DEATH TO IRAN. There are many other examples.
Actually, in my view, Iranians should not shout DEATH TO AMERICA anymore. Americans themselves are shouting DEATH TO AMERICA every year by murdering tens of thousands of their fellow Americans annually. Finally I should say that America is a lot more evil than Iran is.

The one God 'theory' has roots in ancient Zoroastrianism which is one of, if not the, oldest religion in the world. Perhaps it is wrong and we may find this out one day. But until that day comes, I suggest you stop this arrogant attitude of 'we are better than you' as it will only lead to self-destruction. Did you not learn anything from the evil the English have inflicted on your country for hundreds of years ?? Learn about how much your ancestors have suffered and don't be so quick to judge a religion of God, especially one that is your neighbour.

Should I judge all Americans as savage, murdering rapists who do nothing but steal, loot & murder people for material gain ??
If I did, I would be as ignorant as you...and I'm not !
The Iranians you talk of are a group of people. They do not represent all of Iranian society. And even if they did...is America not the land of free-speech...these people are expressing their opinions, and they have a God-given right to do so. Whether they are right or wrong is debatable.
Coming from a land of 'freedom' you contradict yourself terribly.

Where did I say anything about free speech? I woulnd deny the the Iranians free speech. In fact I am thankful that they are able to speak their minds. Now I know what they are thinking and it is "Death to America". A "group" as you call it is litterally multi hundreds of thousands of people in the street celebrating something to do with the downfall of the Shah. As the many news cameras zoom into various pockets of these huge crowds they reveal the same story over and over. Iranians burning and stomping upon the American flag and chanting "death to America" and "America is Satan" and the surrounding people cheering them on. Why deny this? Some might point to the (much smaller) KKK rallies that occurr in the USA as showing a similar demonstation of a minority that shouldnt be taken seriously but isnt there always a number of even more vocal opponents to harrass and ridicule them? Where is the opposition in Iran? I dont see the police or citizens or any political leader calling for the Iranians to not say such things. In fact the beloved supreme leader regularly calls for the the death of the "great satan" America. A people at some point ARE responsible for what their countries position is and are responsible for the actions of their leaders. Again, if Clinton called Iran "SATAN" or called for the "DEATH OF IRAN" I could see the country and world leaders castigating him. But we American are just supposed to sit and stay quit while Iranians en masse call for our death? I say NO! In light of my countries intelligence community saying that Iran is supporting terrorist who's goal is the KILL Americans, I say DEATH TO IRAN!. I feel at this time that America has enough reason to attack Iran. The USA should declare war on Iran and begin killing Iranians. Only then will Iran understand that they do not have free reign to call for and seek the death of Americans. The line is drawn. DEATH TO IRAN!!

It is very unfortunate that starvation and dying of a group of people would bring you joy and salvation. I feel that there is some humanity that has been lost in you because of the hatred that political situation in Iran has caused for you. To be honest, I don't believe you. I don't really think you mean what you say. I know in your heart you really don't wish this. But may be I am wrong. You really bring yourself down to the level of the hostage takers, to the level of the people who would attack Americans overseas and to the level of sub-human. The politics involved in what you on TV is quite complicated and you would need to know a lot of the history in order to understand the situation. Please don't get me wrong, I do not support these chartings and demonstrations at all - but it's not as simple as saying that Iranians just want the Americans dead. In fact that is not the case at all.

Who denied it ? I am saying that there is a reason for everything that happens.
1- the people that chant do no represent all of Iranian society. There are millions of other Iranians living in Iran and outside who do not share the same view.
2- You cannot honestly tell me you believe everything you see on TV??? Alot of the information about Iran in Western countries, especially US, is bias and propaganda.
3- It's a nasty fact but a reality that you must face upto: The West including US, UK etc...have for years been milking Iran and neighbouring countires for Oil, gas and other natural minerals.. The US is the only country in the world that still holds trade embargo against Iran ?? This angers people and the anger these people may feel is towards the American Governement not ordinary people like you. The US Government is corrupt and only interested in profiting from other countires which it has the power to do so.
So don't appear as shallow as you do and judge ALL iranians by the ones you saw on TV. As I shouldn't judge all Americans as KKK or money-grabbing animals....and I won't because I would then be even more ignorant than they are !!!!
