He should be put back in if not for any other reason then at least for
offering a serious, justifiable reason to doubt that Homo sapiens is the
most intelligent creature inhabiting this planet.

Well, that will hardly happen unless he does something more serious (which
heaven forbid!). We inherited the laws and legal system of greater Sweden in
1809 and have since then followed the Nordic tendency of turning ever more
cheaks for the offender to hit. I doubt that people in Sweden still know the
good old word that describes this philosophy: dalt. It's called kriminalv�rd
nowadays. Man v�rdar kriminaliteten.
