1. I hope you are charging your appropriate fee for educating this poor
unfortunate chappie called quincy. At last the chappie has come around to
bemoan state failure in Nigeria. Up till now, he has been the most spirited
defender of the decrepit status quo. Now, seeing the efficiently operated
Ghana, South African and Liberian Airways has done the trick, quincy has
seen the light. Could some please tell him even the tiny landlocked state
of Zimbabwe despite all its recent problems still operates efficient
telephone, postal, electricity supply services etc. Ditto for Burkina Faso,
Gambia etc. Tell
him also that desperate Nigerians seeking to escape the paradise of
obasanjo, Danjuma et al have are routinely brutalised and refused even
transit by those states.
Now, state failure is nothing to celebrate, it is everything to be ashamed
of. Would quincy now admit that those he regarded as seditious in his
drunken state are in fact the heroes of our time? Those who demand the
dismantling of the failed state are the great African patriots while those
who seek to preserve the status quo are the arch-villains, the veritable
traitors.
2. The quibbling quincy got it wrong when he asserted that the chaotic scene
observed in Lagos is the same all over Nigeria. Fa fa fa, foul! The truth
is that Lagos is the epitome of rottenness and chaos in Nigeria, a far cry
from the tree-lined boulevards of Enugu or Owerri. Most people, foreigners
and Nigerians avoid Lagos like a plague that it is. What should worry quincy
is how Lagos was turned into a zoo and Kosovo. The answer is the utter greed
of the SW elite.
Prior to the Biafran war, Nigeria was a carefully balanced federation with
growth centres carefully located in the regions: Enugu and Port Harcourt –
East; Lagos and Ibadan- West; Kano and Kaduna- North. The SW elite plotted
to destroy Port Harcourt by instigating the abandoned property scam out of
jealousy. They wanted to create the myth that Igboland is landlocked and all
that crap If you want to wind a Yoruba man up, to agitate or upset him, tell
him that Port Harcourt is Igboland and watch the reaction. Once PH was
destroyed via the abandoned property plot the SW elite proceeded to
concentrate and centralise all communal infrastructure in Lagos thereby
drawing huge movements of population from all over Nigeria to the Lagos
area.
Today the whole place is a human zoo and areas, which were originally marked
out for residential purposes, have become bustling commercial centres and
the chaos goes on. Meanwhile the natural ethnic balance in the area has been
so altered that the Northern Hausa now claim exclusive ownership and
threaten to burn the entire rotten edifice down. Have members of the greedy
SW elite learnt anything? No they are still undermining themselves by
centralising all sorts of facilities in Lagos “the commercial capital”
thereby fuelling the influx. The Lagos –New York air route will inevitably
draw more people into Lagos whereas the de-centralisation of the Law school
will keep the population in the regions. Unless members of the greedy SW
elite embark on a speedy programme of decentralisation, Lagos is African
Kosovo in the making.
According to Neli Uchendu:
Nigeria -Ife dara ada a dago! (That which has failed has failed)
If dara ada e mebi go ! (That which has failed is beyond repair)
