Anyone knew any fish shop around in\out nearby KL dealing marine stuff?

There are only few of such shops, those I visited only deal in
freshwater stuff.

Aquarium 88 in Pandan Indah.
they have a branch in Subang Jaya, SS15
Also along same road is another one specialising in marine stuff. It's next
to Klinik Lee where you can get TOTO, 4D and 1+3D shops

There are a few.
However, a lot of them also deal with fresh water stuffs.

Ok, thanks. I got its website too.
http://www.88marine.com/

I'm looking forward somewhere else, preferable around Seri
Kembangan/Serdang.

Think there's not much choice. Will try Pandan Indah.

Marine fish aquarium is difficult to maintain. Tougher than maintaining a
car, you know.
The minerals required to have a healthy aquarium would cost you a real dent
in your pocket.
Good luck. I gave up becos the fish kept dying off becos I couldn't afford
to buy those minerals.

Base on my research, mineral are only mean for coral or exoskeleton.

The cost and maintenance do go higher for coral.

BTW, does reef = coral? Or reef = marine aquatic plant?

The only additional setup for marine fish (no coral or plant) is the
protein skimmer. Maybe the nitrate denutrition stuff.

What specis you been tried? My wife wanna a clownfish.

My initial liveforms are : clownfish, its partner anemoe (is it a
coral, or just plant?), some marine plant (not coral), maybe seahorse
too.

The resources for these research not much, most are foreign source, not
local.

I'm yet to commit on this, not before my few visits to some marine fish
shop 1st.

Reef refers to the corals and plants and the fishes. The whole gamut.

Nemo of course got. Blue damsel, tomato fish, etc. All died. Poor fellas.

The anemones need a lot of minerals, you know. Otherwise they shrivel and
die off. One anemone can set one back by RM50!!!

Anyway, it good for reducing stress.

Are you getting those stuff from 88 Marine?

I chk their listing price for the calcium machinery, it cost about 800
- 1.2K ! Do you use that device and is it necessary?

I intend to bring in a 60g tank. If the marine project failed
miserably, then some of the stuff may reuse for freshwater.

I shop all over the places for the cheapest goods in town for the cheapest
pocket :-)
Some shops sell Nemo for rm6 and some for rm8.
Erm...I don't use expensive stuff (maybe that's why the damsels died, poor
girls)

If your project fail, go the red Arowana ! It's simply beautiful.

Oh, do look out for any sign of rust in your home as time goes by due to the
effect of the evaporation of salt water. Otherwise, a successful marine
aquarium is simply a wonder in the living room. Enjoy.!

Although I can read Mandarin, I still use English in the forum. Luckily
some are "entertaining" me.

There's another site I found out recently
http://myfish.info

But its damn slow, and I'm not a member. You can try it.

Sabah Kaloi? Dunno what's that.

Yah, I love seafood. But I'm not setting up an aquarium to fill my
stomach. :P
LOL

I frequent 2 foreign sites for good info about marine.
http://www.reefcentral.com/
http://www.aquariacentral.com/ (site is having problem recently)

Sabah Kaloi is some sort of gourami from where else but Sabah.

A baby cost around RM13.00, so it would not be feasible to make it into a
dish !:))

If you want marine fish, you can go to Penang and get them off Batu
Ferringhi for free :-)))
