me a Gary had this week w/ Zippy.
Gary went to the Baltimore Zoo and wanted to see if Zippy(tm) could be
rented-out for parties. And they said, flat out, no! Gary didn't say what
kind of party, he just told them for "parties" -- wink, wink! They said
Zippy was not a pet and could not be rented out under any circumstances,
whatsoever, even... Next stop, Gary went to an exotic pet store and wanted
to see if they had any simian animal rentals. Again, flat no!
We wound up getting an illegally purchased lemur (kind of like a small
monkey) but that lemur took one whiff of my kootch and ran up the wall and
perched itself on top of an expensive collectors' lamp we bought at Wal;Mart
last week, on sale. Gary turned on the lamp (a halogen type) and it heated
up the lemur's ass really fast, which sent the lemur running down the hall
and into our unfinished garage. It escaped through a hole in the wall -- of
which we have many. So now we're out $950.00 for the lemur. We;re looking in
the newspaper to see if it turns up on anyone;s lawn or garden. maybe we
could claim it quietly off normal channels, saying we got it at Wal;Mart
too.
I think it was the smell of all that Astroglide that scared the crap out of
the poor little creature.
