Jerusalem - Relatives of the Palestinian who went on a deadly rampage on a
Jerusalem street say he spent years in a romantic relationship with a Jewish
Israeli woman.
That is a rarity in a city where such ties between Arabs and Jews are nearly
nonexistent.
Hussam Dwayat was married to a Palestinian woman. But his mother-in-law says
a previous girlfriend was a Jewish Israeli. Hoda Dabash says the woman even
stayed with Dwayat's parents for a month and a half.
The Israeli woman told an Israeli paper Friday that Dwayat fathered her
child, now seven years old. Her name was given only as "S".
Dwayat, 30, crushed three people to death and wounded dozens on one of
Jerusalem's busiest thoroughfares on Wednesday with a massive earth moving
vehicle.
