Netanyahu's household spending up 80% in four years
In 2012, PM's residence shelled out NIS 480,000 on food, NIS 1.2 million on
cleaning - nearly double what it spent in 2009
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu household spending has nearly doubled
since 2009, growing by 80 percent to some NIS 5.4 million ($1.5m.) in 2012,
the state revealed Monday.
The new information comes amid scathing public criticism leveled at
Netanyahu after it was revealed that he had spent $127,000 (over 450,000
shekels) of the taxpayers' money having an El Al plane outfitted with a
double bed in an enclosed bedroom for his five-hour flight to London last
month to attend the funeral of British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

That's how this investigation started.
Menahem Begin was older than Bibi when he and Mrs. Begin flew to Los Angeles

across 3 chairs. You can google the photos. This guy needed a special
bedroom for him and his wife, at the cost of $127,000, for a 5-hour flight.
And he has 3 houses which the govt maintains. Obama pays for his own food
budget out of his own salary. The British PM pays council taxes on 10
Downing Street out of his own pocket. Bibi has his personal Caesaria
vacation house cleaned and gardened at govt expense.
Read some talkbacks, and you'll understand why Mrs. Bibi is often referred
to as Miss Piggy.

The point was, AISI, that we're not seeing corruption cases siphoning
millions (rather than the comparatively paltry numbers mentioned
above, which in any case must be viewed in context of what the local
practice is), or sex scandals. So the point stands.
