It seems that Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA) is a tad out of the loop on
matters of Middle East peace. If it were up to him, Israelis and
Palestinians would restart peace talks under the guidance of their
respective leaders, Ariel Sharon and Yasser Arafat.
His advice did not seem to take into account the fact that Arafat died in
2004 and Sharon has been in a coma since 2006.

When people quote articles this way, it looks to me like they are
giving their own words.

And I thought this was metaphoric until I looked at the page itself.

But it's for real. So, speaking for Arafat, I want to say: There will
be no peace and no compromise. (I learned the second part from the Tea
Party. I think it has a better ring than my previous slogan. And
please send more aid. My wife is running out of money.)

That's why I'm sure I won't be contradicted.

You are right. I should have put "quote" at the beginning and at the end of
the quote, as I usually do. I must have had a senior moment there.

I have noted Mr. Arafat's comment. We shall now await Mr. Sharon's.
