What are your thoughts on being in Shanghai City Centre on the morning
of the eclipse?

- weather/smog (likelihood of cloud cover)
- photo opportunities (great backdrops)
- what particular astronomical observations to make (Shadows on the
ground - The interesting effects of the amost Eclipsed Sun shining
through the leaves on trees)
- what cameras / what lenses

I have collected a few maps here:
http://miscellaneous-sonstiges.blogspot.com/2009/06/solar-eclipse-2009-in-shanghai.html
but I am pretty clueless on what to do on the day.

I was on a mission to track a total solar eclipse back in 1965 over
the Pacific Ocean. It was totally a very strange feeling as it was
not day at 11 am, yet it was not night either. It was a very strange
look and stranger feeling.
