All my cousins took accordion lessons. I was regarded as quite the
bohemian for choosing, of all things, the violin. Mom had her nose
stuck in the air for *years* with haughtiness about that.

Yeah? I know, and have known, a lot of black
folk in my life. Not one has ever been in
a "black mob" -- not even when I taught school
