And the horse? Don't tell me they failed to breathalyze it

"The last winning post, Stewball passed it quite handy
Horse and rider both called for sherry wine and brandy
And they drank up a health to the noble grey mare
For she emptied their pockets on the Plains of Kildare."

(Andy Irvine's 'Plains of Kildare' lyrics)

While Peter, Paul and Mary (and Joan Baez) have

"Old Stewball was a racehorse, and I wish he were mine
He never drank water, he always drank wine"

So what? They would have been lacking in their duty of care if he had
fallen off his mount and injured himself. A petty post.

Yes Féachadóir, how dare you set out to deliberately and perniciously
defend drunk riding and undermine the authority of the Irish Turf club
and other official bodies controlling drink riding. I bet you supply
drink to horses, and perhaps also to dogs.

Try having a few and getting home by donkey (side saddle) and you
wouldn't do it again.

The last time I was on a Donkey was in Spain riding up to a castle. I
stretched my legs and the wee donkey just trotted away from underneath me.

I walked the rest of the way.

You are just trying to amoy me and you will not suceed. You little
shit. Everybody rode side saddle on a donkey. Everybody. There were no
saddles, no harness and just a wee stick to guide through the black
night. If you fell off, you were deep shit - try catching one in the
dark. Anyway, donkeys were imported from the middle east to replace
horses used for Empire - like msny infesations from the middle east.
Ask whathisname, but I suppose he has severe Holy Mary distortions of
perception.

The notion of an Irish drink culture - like Irish Catholics - is a
complete myth, foisted on us by north Americans. Displaced people get
drunk (all displaced people) and will cling to any religion in an
ontological wasteland.

How do they ride those bicycles without falling off? I's a skill I
suppose - hop on and slide off.

I though I could find some old photos on the internet but none. See:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0o2-S1p2MUo/Sm-YbBEI_-I/AAAAAAAAAdw/u8N4_7fL97Y/s400/SUDANESE+WOMEN+WITH+DONKEY.jpg

If anyone has any old black and white negatives or old photos maybe
they could let me know.

The visual world has been supressed by our dominant acadamic culture
and all of these photos will be loast forever.

Households used to have a many donkeys - some specialised in twin
wicker baskets for bringing turf. Kids also grew up with young donkeys
and made friends. Few people had money - not enough to waste on a
saddle anyway. Nost things were made of wicker or wood. They had the
dignity of self reliance and might have been concerned for the dignity
of someone whining about beeing ripped off by a bank.

People lose their dignity before they run out of wealth.

Try riding bareback astride a donkey for four miles and your point
will become very sore. Anyway people mostly walked but old men used a
donkey (side saddle). The only time I saw alcohol used was for a very
old man and he was given a medicinal (illegal?) spirit AFTER he was
carried off the donkey.

Let me re-phrase that: People lose their dignity long before they lose
their wealth.

Kelpie, what do you think should be done with Kate and Gerry McCann?

Yes I suppose so. How about this,

Please select from the following -

1. The Curragh army base is

A. Not of any special interest
B. Certainly historically significant, but not personally so.
C. Sit down while I block all exits to the building, I want to tell
you some things.

2. Luke Kelly was

A a frizzy bollox
B. OK
C. A great musician
D. God

3. You pass four bottles of cheap sweet white wine that are unattended
on a park bench
You decide to

A. Leave them for someone else
B. Donate them to a charity for use as raffle prizes
C. Sample a small amount and leave the rest for someone else
D. Take them home for exhaustive analysis and testing and post the
results on SCI

4. Someone who points out an inconsistency or disagrees with you on
SCI is

A. An interesting person to exchange views with
B. Challenging, but worth engaging with
C. A little shit.

5. Kate and Gerry McCann can best be described as

A. Unfortunate victims of a horrific crime
B. Made a mistake but are deserving of support and understanding.
C. They were in the wrong but if it wasn’t for the grace of God there
go any one of us.
D. Should be banged up for years for child abuse and be grateful for
that.

6. What is worse

A. Hitler
B. Stalin
C. Aggravated institutionally supported clerical child abuse.
D. Satan
E. The Lisbon Treaty

7. How are you feeling today?

A. Fine
B. Could do better
C. We are all like vermin squabbling in the dirt of a derelict bank.
We
see no harm in harassing a public servant out of office for doing his
job. We have no dignity to lose. I know.
