Good Christians from all over the world could soon be flocking to Dublin
after this Saturday's Songs of Praise. Choirs from the Christchurch Cathedral,
St Patrick's Cathedral and St Mary's Pro-Cathedral took part in the recording
of the BBC religious programme and church officials are hopeful their
performance will encourage viewers to pay a visit to the capital.
The special broadcast, which is presented by Eammon Holmes and features
travelogues from around the city, was recorded at Christchurch Cathedral
and
will reach a global audience of more than 44 million.
The Dean of Christchurch, the Very Rev John Paterson, said: "We will be very
pleased if the programme has a positive knock-on effect for the city from
a
tourism point of view." '

You bought Forbidden Planet out of their stock, you mean ! I don't expect
a freebie, honest, I'll buy it off you at the next SCIcon.
Ta very much !
Forbidden Planet only stock Lord of the Rings figures and Harry Potter and
South Park memorabilia. They don't favour the written word.

Now apparently cancelled in favour of a Thora Hird special.
That was some shock. A few days ago, I heard she was still alive. The next
thing, I hear she's dead.
